I'm writing an article about artists that program their own customized live performance or production environments in things like Max, Reaktor, Processing, PD or from their own application - people like tim exile and autechre. Anyone else you would recommend checking out?

but venetian is just a more steroid version of squarepusher. i guess nobody has made the kind of impact as sp or afx lately.

When I was a kid it was aphex and squarepusher. But now I'm old and not so into it anymore. So who's got the crazy programming chops these days daddy-o? Who are the hip kids?

Which format do you think is better for artists showcasing their work? I only have updates like once every 1-2 months so I'm not constantly 'blogging'. Is this possible? Like I have 50 percussion samples loaded into sampler and each one is on its own sample select zone. I can get it to change with each key press, but can i do it for a sustaining note? Or is this not possible?

interesting.. So you don't see a large user library building up? I kind of forsee it becoming like the Reaktor library with a few really great developers making synths/efx etc. Do you think I'm wrong in this assumption?

While there are already numerous MAX patches freely available, oftentimes they are not built optimally - so you never know what you might get. It would be nice to know what kind of users we can expect to get patches from and who will take part in this "extend".
