Thanks from your response Frank, I understand now. This is how Live handles latency so you can switch off the plugin in a live mix without audio problems and glitches. The others DAW's I was talking about are not designed for live performances, thats the difference.

Thanks for your reponse but, I dont understand why Ableton Live must respect the latency value of a deactivated plugin, in other DAWs like reaper this doesnt happen, if you deactivate the plug is latency goes off.

In Ableton Live 8.0.1 (demo version) this also happens :(

And from the voxengo forum:

... you deactivate Curve Eq and the effect is gone and the latency is gone ( so you can record live instruments on that track for example, then in the mix you activate it again )

This is an Ableton BUG?
