Re: Live + 3rd party plugins = FAIL

good on you... I complained a lot and never got refunded.. although was offered to be refunded and downgrade to v7.. and offered discount coupons for stuff I don't want/need.. I'm assuming I did because I'd talked with Ableton several times for about a year (I think) before starting the thread. Dur...

Re: Live + 3rd party plugins = FAIL

Still waiting on that workaround. If you were using a limiter with lookahead before such a plugin, then of course it would do that. Wrong. Actually other DAWs I've used do stay in time. So knowing this (being a true "professional" you should know it) and reading the claim by Ableton, would...

Re: Live + 3rd party plugins = FAIL

From what the Ableton team said, the only work around is to make sure there are no plugins that cause a delay before a time sensitive unit such as beat repeat (or if you're just drawing creative automation that has to be tight). Best thing I guess would be to use only Ableton native plugins on any ...

Re: Live + 3rd party plugins = FAIL

If you were using a limiter with lookahead before such a plugin, then of course it would do that. Using Live as a production tool, this issue isn't something I find irritating, although as a live tool with real time audio (Vocals, guitar or whatever with plugins), it is useless at present. But as t...

Re: Live users with disabilities and injuries

Cool. Make sure you watch the videos/read the instructions re the Handmaster ball. And don't overdo it :) You might find you need less time on the computer to allow you're arms to rest from the exercises otherwise you can make it worse. I don't miss scrolling much. I'm on Logic so no shortage of key...

Re: Live users with disabilities and injuries

Do ALL the following and you will be a new person. I have no medical qualifications. Just personal experience. It's the result of a lot of research and a long experimental journey. Trust me. Get rid of the trackpad. They're great re interactivity but they're a f#@kin ergonomic disaster. A regular m...

Re: Live's audio engine less effective than Pro-Tools or Logic?

You're not getting a straight answer because it's pretty much been proven that all major DAWs sound alike, given the same signal path and settings. Any time someone claims to find evidence that Live "sounds worse" than other DAWs, it inevitably turns out to be a difference in hardware or ...

Re: Live + 3rd party plugins = FAIL

why not just turn off delay compensation and use a plugin at the end of the effects chain to manually compensate the delay. i understand we want to be lazy and not deal with this, but if it comes to getting work done don't let it hold you back. voxengo offers a free plugin to do exactly this job. p...

Sampler only $70!

http://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=162703

I get the feeling hardly anyone looks in the 'for sale' forum unless they've decided to buy already. So... any impulse buyers out there? Step right up for this rare once in a lifetime opportunity.

SAMPLER FOR JUST $70!

Any takers?

Re: What happened to Ableton Live?

Some need to realize that Live wasn't made to run on these piece of $hit computers that people try to use either! My 4 cents. What pieces of shit exactly? Do you have access to a secret database that shows a correlation between Live's performance and the quality of the computers it's running on? :r...
