Re: Maschine MK3 in Live?

I think it is. However, NI could do a MUCH better job integrating Machine with DAWs imo...and maybe not worth it if all you need is a midi controller. Then you are probably better with a launchpad or MPC MPD218, MPD232 or something like that.

Re: Audio Latency - Ext Synth Recording to Audio. Always late.

To have it land correctly in the track you must use 'direct monitoring' from the audio card (I think your Saffire does have it) and have the input monitoring in live to 'Off' When it's on 'Auto' or 'In' it will land in the track late by the amount you set your buffer size. Ableton's reasoning for th...

Re: Deadmau5 Latency Issue tracking vocals

Ok, I just tested it myself with a cable going from the output to an input. I also have a RME FW400. So there must be hardware latency reporting going on to Ableton. As the waveform seems to line-up perfectly: https://s23.postimg.org/3su0zw2qj/latency.jpg I wonder why the mau5 has issues then tho. M...

Re: Deadmau5 Latency Issue tracking vocals

As far as I know there is no hardware driver latency reporting to Ableton? That's the whole point.
You would expect it yes, as all other major platforms (Cubase, Protools, Logic) do have an automatic reporting.

Re: Deadmau5 Latency Issue tracking vocals

Sorry Pitch Black but according to the Live's lessons you should set the driver error compensation in a direct monitoring scenario. You say: If you use zero-latency monitoring (i.e. pass-thru before A/D conversion) on your audio interface to get your dry monitoring signal, and keep the actual record...

Re: Deadmau5 Latency Issue tracking vocals

According to the lesson in Ableton Joel is correct on this. - When monitoring is 'Off' (aka using direct monitoring from a mixing desk or sound card): Live wants you to measure yourself what the actual input and output latencies in the system are. (with a cable from an output to an input) And adjust...

Re: Deadmau5 Latency Issue tracking vocals

Ok, i can accept there might be a weird issue if he has like 196 channels enabled in his input config of the preferences in Ableton. Strange he would do that while tracking a single vocal though, especially if he experiences an issue with that. However, the point is: Even if there is one channel ena...

Deadmau5 Latency Issue tracking vocals

Is this true? If you monitor through Ableton or even via the direct monitoring (aka zero latency monitoring) of an audio card (if it has the option) The audio still always lands 'late' on the recorded audio track? https://youtu.be/souKFhNrhrE Thanks a milli, Steve Update: So it lands late in the tra...

Render Length Export Ableton 9.1.6 Session view at 128 bars

When exporting from session view the render length always stays at 128 bars.

It used to be the same whatever length you exported last. I believe it was a feature in Ableton 8.
Very annoying to reset it each time to let say 16 bars.

Any work arounds?

Thanks,

Steve

Re: Yikes!! Snapy crackle pops etc... (Live 8)

I found the solution! For me at least... If you go to "control panel" and then "Sounds and Audio Devices Properties" under the "audio" tab. There is a Sound Playback "Default device". If this is the same as in ableton then you get a conflict and cracks and pops. If you set this to another output Fir...
