Re: MPD24 For Clip Firing Like An APC40?
I read so much Topics now here where Maschine (or in this matter an MPD) is compared with the APC. Hope people will realise soon that buttons aren't the same on total different machines, if you press the button on your espresso machine the result will not be the same as you push one of the buttons ...

Re: Ni Maschine to programm midi in step mode in live ???
it would be much better if there was the possibillity to edit them using the maschine hardware while actually creating them in live (hope it is understandable what i mean), having the hardware with the blinking pads and the running light but everything which is done on the hardware just controls ev...

Re: Nocturn - mapable way to focus a plug-in without mouse?
In Live 8, device headers are midi mappable. So to do it with Nocturn, you'd have to use the Automap MIDI client and map the buttons to the plugins. As far as I know, Live doesn't allow you to midi map to the button that brings up 3rd party plugin's gui window, but as long as you have the gui opened...

Re: controllers that compliment Live
NI Maschine

Also works as a pad controller, doesn't require a wall wart, has an Electribe style step sequencer, and offers its own version of Session View where you can actually record automation in patterns (i.e. session view clips).

Re: am i the only one who isn't excited about the apc40
No confusion. Just too excited about Maschine. :) And I think the fact that Maschine is the first midi controller to be released that allows for navigating and launching Live's session view clip matrix, instead of APC40, makes them comparable. Not to mention that the software of Maschine itself is b...

Re: am i the only one who isn't excited about the apc40
As far as the faders go , I would actually prefer no faders to 'dead' faders. That's a cost saving right there. I think most people have some sort of 'midi mixer' solution already, and this APC-fader approach to a midi mixer does not even beat a Behringer BCR for functionality!, so that's not exact...

padkontrol + farmpad http://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=93154 "- XY pad can act as a switch. The XY Switch is handy - you can put the switch in trigger mode and assign it to dry/wet on an effect so pressing it turns the effect on, moving about the x-y tweaks the effect, then letti...

Re: am i the only one who isn't excited about the apc40
I just think that this controller is a throwback to the MPC and claims to wear all these hats when its essentially a software MPC. Um, no. It does claim AND wear all those hats. It is not a "software MPC". I know that it can step sequence and control live's clips, however all that means n...

Re: recording kore2 controller moves in arrangement doesn't work
how do you record this into sessionview? Just hit record and move the knobs. You don't need to arm the tracks. ew So let me get this straight. Kore 2 allows one to record automation in Live's session view without having to use any workarounds such as using the 3rd party's own midi learn or using a ...

Re: am i the only one who isn't excited about the apc40
I can do all of those things with my mpc 2500 tied to live... Clip launch=Yup. My live template has 8 tracks of 64 clips midi assigned to the 4 banks of the mpc. That's not the same at all. The setup you describe would be fixed to 64 clips whereas in Maschine's clip matrix mode, 4 of the blue group...

Re: Automap useless for 3rd party MIDI learn
Also, using the Automap MIDI client instead of Plugin Automap, seems like you're limited to only 16 possible templates, although you do get pages per template. And I guess you then also miss out on the ability for the controller to automatically switch to the corresponding template whenever you sele...

Re: Nocturn useless for 3rd party MIDI learn
unless i'm totally misunderstanding you, yes you can use the Nocturn like a normal MIDI controller... in the Automap Server settings, choose "Automap MIDI" as the MIDI input and output ports, and then turn on one or more MIDI channels too... the Automap software will automatically create ...
