Re: Will we ever get touch-bar functions?

I can understand stuff like scrubbing might take some dev time, but adding things like menu shortcuts should be pretty obvious...

Re: Macbook Pro with Ableton runs extremely hot

I noticed this line in the beta release notes: "On macOS, Live now uses Apple's Metal framework to present its UI on supported hardware."

I wouldn't be surprised if that helps a bit too...

I'd guess most are running Catalina by now.

No probs over here...

https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2020/05/2020-13-inch-macbook-pro-review-the-standard-macos-workhorse/ Still, the device offers roughly competitive performance against a similar Windows laptop and is a step up from the Air across the board. The Air, we should point out, gets very loud, whereas the Pr...

Re: Google Chromecast changes everything !

Funny Reading this in 2020 after the demise of Apple TV... I wouldn't call 13M units last year exactly 'demise', but whatever floats your boat... On a personal level it's probably the best tech investment I've ever made. Bought mine in 2010, never needed another. Still runs my streams and Netflix '...

Re: So, these new MacBook (Air / Pro) machines...

Looking at these fan issues one other reason to opt for the gen 10 Pro is the internal design. This machine has 2 fans (and better speakers in case one cares) as opposed to the 8th gen design which only has 1 fan...

Re: So, these new MacBook (Air / Pro) machines...

No problem at all - happy to help. I would say that I'd be slightly wary of the i7, it's a chunk more money and it's unclear if the computer can actually utilise that increase in power over the i5. Even the benchmarks are quite similar (though given my complaints predominantly relate to long intens...

They were talking about the first ever i5 AFAIK. It came right after the Core Duo.

So any i5 will do according to this...

Re: So, these new MacBook (Air / Pro) machines...

Thanks a lot! Re: Chrome - yeah, it's not the most efficient browser on the block. I'm also not sure yet. I like the more consistent output of the Pro, but I can get a gen 10 i7 Air for much less. I guess I'll wait a bit for reviews / benchmarks covering the cheapest Pro model vs the i7 Air, but for...
