For DnB and electro check out Pakhuis Wilhelmina on saturdays. As said above, for up to date underground party info ask around at the Rush Hour record shop, Spuistraat. To play a gig, check out cafe Vaaghuizen. They might let you play on a midweek day.

Guru indeed looks very promising. I will sure check a demo when it's out.

On the other hand, Ableton has a very impressive record when it comes to upgrading their products. I woulnd't be surprised that within a few months, Recycle support in Live is a fact.

Sure it's possible to work with Recycle in Ableton but the methods decribed above are more or less work-arounds. You should be able to drag a Rex file into a midi lane and "copy pattern to track" á la Reason, so that every slice is represented by a midi note in the clip view. Then you can ...

No misunderstanding, the announced Live 5 features are kick-ass and I will sure appreciate the new Beat Repeat. But for beat programming and fooling around with loops it would be nice to have loop slicing and Recycle support. Recycle is king when it comes to beat slicing and editing Rex loops in Rea...
