Re: Sample Offline?

Been there, too, several times. This is a major PITA with Live.

Re: TOP 20 Hits produced with Ableton !!!

...more ? We could just keep on naming random producers who made hits in the 90s that predate the existence of Ableton Live since that's where this thread seems to be going... Why limit ourselves to the 90s, actually I heard that Hound dog, Can´t buy me love, Hey Jude, (Everything I do) I do it for...

Samples offline - please help

I just downloaded and installed Live 8 2.2.2 and suddenly most of the samples in my songs are offline. Since I asked before, http://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=147176, http://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=126683, I follow the advice I got. Still the files are gone missing! ...

Re: UAD cards - worth it?

i really want all the tunes to sound like a million bucks. Are you sure the million bucks-sound lies in an expensive UAD-card, and not your mixing skills? A pro can make a great sound with rather modest plugins in pretty much any DAW. Do you really hear enough difference between these compressors t...

Re: Tips for shorter launch time starting Live?

OK, I deleted all the effects I had in my template project loaded by default, and Live loads much faster now.

Note, all the effects were disabled, but still only having them in the drop area made Live starting much slower.

Thanks!

Re: Everyone else is 64 bit

+1 for 64 bit (or workaround like splitting processes to allow more than 2gb of memory). The argument for 64 bit seems very simple - a lot of users (possibly most and certainly anyone who likes to use hungry 3rd party vsts) are running out of memory and having to bounce things when everyone using o...

Tips for shorter launch time starting Live?

I just compared a demo of Reaper, starting in 9 seconds, to Live, starting in over 40.

Why does Live take so long time to start?

Is there any way I could make Live start in shorter time?

Thanks for any tip.

(I did a search but nothing came up.)

Re: Things you wish you had known earlier...

1. Less is almost always more. Turn down the effects, back off the compression, use less EQ and reverb, get rid of tracks that don’t really add anything important to the song. 2. Don’t force yourself to write only in one genre (blasphemy, I know). Variety is the spice of life, so experiment with ot...

Anybody been able to setup a breath controller in Live?

I got Sample modelings The Trumpet for Kontakt and am trying to use it with the Yamaha BC3 breath controller together with the Breath controller box från Midi solutions in my sequencer Ableton Live. I´ve got a hard time setting this up to work. At all times I get a message in the Kontakt plugin says...

Re: Live 8 and Omnisphere, or complex pro - flakey?

Live is not yet optimized for Win7/64. So it doesn´t matter that you have 6 GB RAM or more, you can still only take advantage of the 32bit 4 gig limit. Sooner or later, if you use Live with RAM-hungry VST-instruments, like Omnisphere, you are going to hit the 32-bit RAM roof. Some users have hit the...

Re: Is Max for Live for me?

I was considering MFL, but I think I´ll wait to invest more money in Live until I know there is a 64bit version around. I need that more.

Sure would like to hear something from Ableton on the future of their software now.

Imported clips plays in double tempo

I´m importing an audio clip with a tempo in about 80 bpm, but when I play it it plays in double tempo, about 150. I´ve unchecked "Warp" in the audio file, but it doesn´t help. I´ve tried to slow the tempo down by dragging down tempo (button beside Tap) as much as I can. I´m down to tempo 2...
