Re: my story about NI denying any help with my Maschine licence

If you buy a ROLEX from a store and pay the full price, and then find out that it is a 10 € fake, do you blame ROLEX that they didn't mark it? With NI, you definitely blame the wrong guys! that example doesn't really apply here. yes it does. joghurt is spot on. you're moaning to the wrong person. y...

Re: "Beatport" stands for Commercial and Sellout?

i think it's the labels job to specify what genre the track is, not beatports. i quite like beatport, there's a lot of great music on there if you know where to look. i find it is best to make favourites of your labels and artists to help sift through the mire. if you use it as your only resource th...

Re: The Maschine & Ableton Love Thread ;) [upon user request]

This sounds more like a hardware issue. I'd contact NI tech support and tell them about it! BTW, I'm currently working on a Ableton Live set that makes it easy to play chords & inversions of one scale on the Maschine. What it basically does (please correct me if I say something wrong, I actuall...

Re: The Maschine & Ableton Love Thread ;) [upon user request]

i've been able to get maschine standalone to start & stop ableton (and move the song position with the < > buttons on the maschine controller) but the sync drifts completely out of time and unstable. i suspect my settings might be slightly wrong - is there any chance you could post up a screen ...

Re: The Maschine & Ableton Love Thread ;) [upon user request]

I use the Maschine Virtual Input/Outputs. Machine is sending a Virtual Output to Live. Within Live I turn on the MIDI inputs from Maschine Virtual in the MIDI Port selection. In Live make sure the top left hand EXT button is on (to receive a MIDI clock) Press play on Maschine & Live should start...

Re: The Maschine & Ableton Love Thread ;) [upon user request]

i was a little intimidated by this thing when i first came across it. was just about to drop $1500 on a machinedrum. i think i might save myself $1000 and get on board with the maschine. sounds too good to be true 8O My exact intentions...But I also used an Akai as a main machine in the past. Getti...

Re: Create in Maschine, Finish in Ableton??

Yes it really good really quick to record pattern. And it works VERY well with Live, because once you randomly created a bunch of pattern, drag n drop to clips in sessions view and play around to make your arrangment. So fast and easy. Can Maschine act as a VST plugin within Live? That is, once I h...

Re: Maschine or Komplete 7?

komplete 7 is without doubt an great set of instruments & effects, however i can't help feel that the OP would have been better getting maschine first. personally, i think the huge range of possibilities in K7 can work against you. you don't spend enough time learning any one thing well, there's...

Re: www.native-instruments.com

But yeah, it is kind of offensive to call these things toys simply because they don't match your view or somebody else's of what they think DJ gear should encompass and look like. And we can dance politely around the subject but what it really comes down to is "real DJs wouldn't use that"...
