Re: Record Bass Guitar with good sound

Also, roll off the super lows with a high pass filter. Which leads to the question.......how do you get sub bass in your production? But to add directly to the topic, I also have been experimenting with some waves bass plugs, with pretty good results. Of course, linear eqs and a good compressor lik...

There are plenty tutorials around. Have you tried YouTube? Just do a Google search, I guarantee you will find what you want.

Re: Mastering

Are you mastering or finalizing your tracks for rendering to wav? Of course I suspect you know that mastering your final track to get optimal overall loudness involves lots more than the peak value of your master track in Live.

Re: Tarekith - "The Folding Night"

Yes Sir, which brings me to the point I support that good musicians can master their own material. I too love the atmosphere, thought it captured the night. If I may comment though, was listening for a more distinct melody to hold on to. I might be old school though and not certain if that would fit...

Hail mighty Angstrom,, I believest thou. In fact I think I do remember thou from such times, I too was there when it started. Not even Tone Deft the Great can better that.

Re: How long have you been using ableton live? :D

You see what I mean. Anything that I can do, Tone Deft could do it better. Just one example of how the family feuds started back in those days.
Anyway, I think we are much older and wiser now, so I won't be drawn into another one now. I doubt if I had even known what mp3 was in 2003.

Re: First look at Reaper

Thanks jur, will check it out. I like to use my electric bass and guitar in my productions, but haven't tried M4L. Theirs is reasonable with latency but is not polyphonic although there is also a work around for that too. I would love to record my guitars and be able to edit the notes afterwards, of...

Re: First look at Reaper

Thiers is a real time work around using their tuner vst. Haven't seen a real time audio to midi in Live.

Re: How long have you been using ableton live? :D

That just shows you how easy it was to make music with Live. Anyway, don't believe everything you read, I was in my 40's then., having been around music production long before then, from in my teens. Just didn't want to show up my age, but it is hard for me to tell a lie.

Re: How long have you been using ableton live? :D

I see your game! You want to show our age. I've been loving Live about 15 years now and I am just 20. Back then the forum was fun. Lots of feuding, family stuff. Lots of expletives and musicians expressing themselves. Luckily we had leadsquietman. Do a search, his posts may still be on the server. H...

Re: First look at Reaper

No, I am not looking for a Live replacement. I have tried all the major DAWs, and none can touch Live. Was just researching wav to midi and decided to give theirs a try. One good thing is that it can be rewired to Live. Still exploring its features to see if there are any that may compliment my work...

First look at Reaper

Just taking my first look at Reaper. Seems to be more recording oriented, which is fine with me on that point. Wouldn't mind getting a feedback from anyone here about their experience with it, the pros and cons as compared to Live. Love the wave to midi work around. In fact, it was while researching...

Re: The chance of zero latency

Without latency, I believe there would be no music. No depth. The optimal latency is what makes audio music to our ears IMHO.
