Re: guitar hero midi controller max app
i've gone for wired. i've had troubles with wireless in the past - dropouts and latency. that was using a ps2 controller/adapter though. the xbox one might be fine, dunno, yet to try it. if you do go wireless you need to buy the usb dongle seperately. ebay's a really good place to find xbox axes. i'...

guitar hero midi controller max app
hey, just wanted to share a video i've uploaded demoing an app i'm working on in max. it lets you (almost) simultaneously control software like ableton and play the guitar as an instrument. just tidying it up at the moment and sorting out some documentation. i'll be releasing it for free soon (as in...

Re: DIY Ableton foot controller build thread!
looking forward to seeing your controller. for keystrokes to midi, bome's midi translator will definitely do the job. you'd need the pro version which isn't free. http://www.bome.com/midi/translator/ this looks like it'd work too... it's also not free... http://www.musicunfolding.com/MU_MIDI_Control...

Re: DIY Ableton foot controller build thread!
Anyone know where I can buy 16 of those switches shipped in the US? The rapid electronics link, wants more or less £16 for the switches, but £37 for the shipping to Texas. And I have found them online but at $5 USD each, while rapid electronics sells them for $1.50 USD, just a huge amount of shippi...

Re: DIY Ableton foot controller build thread!
momentary is the way to go, latching switches act as if you are holding down the key. the caps lock key is already sort of auto latching - tap it momentarily once for caps, tap again for uncaps. you could achieve the same result by using a latching switch on the shift key. the advantage of that is i...

Re: DIY Ableton foot controller build thread!
Does anyone know how to make a Volume pedal for Wah purposes? you could do it using a cheap usb game pad. the joysticks are just two pots so you could take one of them and house it in an old volume pedal then use max or something to turn the game data into midi. you'd have a lot of other buttons to...

Re: DIY Ableton foot controller build thread!
that is a confusing schematic! at a guess i'd say 1 would connect to the adjacent m, same with 2 and 3. you could try bridging each side (1,2,3 & mmm). that looks to be what's happening in the pics on pg 1. sorry i can't be more help... i'm sure other ppl will know more. how have you been testin...

Re: DIY Ableton foot controller build thread!
great thread, thanks for putting this up. it's inspired me to put together something similar: http://zealousy.com.au/images/buttonbox2.jpg it pumps out these characters: CAPS 1 2 3 q w e r a s d f z x c v t y u i i chose 123 for the top buttons so they're not effected by the bank switch. it's design...
