Re: MY ULTRALITE JUST WENT NUCKING FUTS!

I once had the same problem once when my fireface 800 went wild. It was terrible. I was so shocked that I wasn't able to think of turning the ff800 off, but jumped to the subwoofer first to turn it off. After that I was really afraid that this could happen again, but it never did. Must have been a c...

Probably a piezo that picks up the instruments vibrations only.

Re: "Translate" audio to midi?

Does that mean that with M4L it would e.g. be possible ... - to enter MIDI-notes via singing into a microphone or playing the saxophone instead of having to draw the notes in the midi-editor? - to sing and get the closest tone played on e.g. the piano to have a reference for ear-training/singing-tra...

Re: RME fireface 800 --good on macs?

Recent Macs have problems with mean audio glitches, because of the firewire-controllers Apple is using. (And, of course, PCs have the same problems if they use these controllers.) For details see the RME forum. I've had these problems with my c2d Macbook and then the Macbook Pro. But everything work...

Controlling many loopers with the same pedal?

Hi loopers, I was thinking about buying a Boss RC50 and now Live comes with a built-in looper. How nice! :) Now I have a question: I'd like to use a midi foot controller with 8 free pedals to - switch between tracks where each track has a looper - control each looper with the same set of pedals For ...

This looks very cool! Can Live also send messages back to the iPhone running TouchOSC, e.g. when you move a fader with the mouse?

Thanks a lot! Both of your answers pointed me in a right direction. What I want is indeed pattern arpeggios. Now, one way to get them is using the pitch plugin and UNLINKING the envelope from the midi clip, so that the pitch envelope can have a longer length than the midi clip itself. I didn't remem...

Shifting the pitch of a midi track from another midi track?

Hi everyone! I have a bass riff and simply want to play it in different keys without having to duplicate the riff and shift the notes manually. I think the topic of shifting the pitch of one midi track from another midi track has been discussed before somewhere here. But I simply can't find it. :( C...

If you buy a keyboard without having tried it out first, be sure that you can send it back. It tried the Korg Kontrol 49 and hated the keyboard action. So I sent it back. Then I went to a big music store and tried them all out. Ended up with a Novation Remote which is great! I haven't tried the new ...

Wow! What a great thread!

What actually helps my creativity very much is a lot of practice. The better I know my instruments (mainly guitar and sax) and the more I play them the more ideas come to my mind and the better I can implement them.

DBX 160a or Compressor II ?

I'm thinking about whether or not it would make sense to buy an external compressor for recording vocals and instruments. The DBX 160a would be a very likely candidate at more or less the cost of a Live license.

But: What would it give me that Compressor II does not give me already?

Nord C1 - anybody tried it?

For several reasons I'm getting tired of the B4II software solution and would like to get some real gear instead. :D (Prolly a case of GAS ...) The Nord C1 sounds very hot. But I wonder what the keyboard action is like. Has anybody tried it yet? How's the feel? Are the keys heavily spring loaded so ...
