the answer to that is Multi-Client midi drivers.... Microsoft XP default drivers are not multi-client, so only one program can use the driver at a time. My stuff is from Evolution and luckily they released a multi-client driver to replace Microsoft's, so now I can use my UC/33, UC/16 and MK249C2 in ...

MOTU

HEy ppl! I had M/Audio FW410, FW1814 and now a MOTU. I've finally found THE audio interface. Not only is rock-solid, the drivers are an example of how drivers should be programmed. The connectors for the audio jacks transmit a sensation of professional equipment as soon as you plug your first cable ...

hey mate

hey ! Very true my friend... I stopped using WAVES plugins on Live 4 bcz they were quite unstable. I retried it, now with Live 5, and my impression was that they were much more unstable than before! They even completely freezed my system! Haven't tried on Live 5.2, I've read it comes with new suppor...

hey there! I have to say... I have an UC16 and an UC33 and they are rock solid. I take my UC/33 to raves, to the beach, it's full of sand, rain, and alcoholic drinks :) And ok, now a couple of knobs are not er.... in excellent condition, but wtf! it's a 160€ machine!!! About the two problems describ...

interesting stuff

Very interesting stuff.. this man knows what he's talking about! Looks like Live needs some SysEx for satisfying the remote-wizards needs! I would add another wish, not that technical or advanced, but very useful: A "MIDI DEVICES RESCAN BUTTON" ... sometime USB controllers (and its associa...

Remove "Delete unused samples" question !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

.... or allow to turn it off.. This question can be a deadly trap sometimes, specially on "Saved-as" projects: It can well delete samples from the mother project. I know Live warns about this, but hey... I think Live should never delete files, and maybe create an option on the File menu &q...

A True "SAVE SELF CONTAINED"

Hi folks! I think the SAVE SELF CONTAINED should forget about former MP3 versions of yer samples, specially when Live has that much trouble and dependencies on QuickTime versions etc etc etc. When I press "Save Self Contained" I want to be completely sure that this project is going to be t...

***** PLEASE ****** MIDI RESCAN

Hi.... such an easy thing that can save your ass in a performance... USB MIDI devices are quite fragile... If for whichever reason the cable is unplugged then plugged again you lose the MIDI port. I think it would be really easy to implement a "RESCAN MIDI PORTS" in the MIDI preferences. I...

Live 5.2 .... Live 5.0.3 ... bugfixes really??

Hi! I would like to know what bugs are fixed in successive versions. I've installed 5.02, 5.03 and 5.2 and don't really notice bugfixes. I don't mean it hasn't, but certainly all the well-known bugs are still there, plus Live 5.0.3 crashes more than 5.0.2 for me. About 5.2 smells like a Mac release ...

MP3 never worked for me

I have to agree MP3 is a feature that never worked for me. I seldom use Live for DJ'ing, working with ALS's with dozens of carefully-warped MP3 files. Everytime Live resamples them for whichever reason (version change, computer change) the warp points become a real mess. I think Ableton could easyly...

Convert your mp3 to WAV before importing into Live? Yes hehehe it's what I do rite now... But it is a bit tedious.... I would like to 'drag and drop' mp3 on the fly, even while LIVE is playing. LIVE should take care of that, after all he decodes the MP3 to WAV and stores it in the "decoding ca...

hey there! I am a PC user, but I can answer some of your questions as they are 'cross-platform' :) * It is certainly a good idea to have your OS/X installed with the minimum components you need for DAW. Not only you will have more HD space available, but (1) the free RAM memory will be increased and...
