Re: Kalimba players? samples, vst, soundfont , synth,w/e

Hi, That picture is an mbira DzaVadzimu as posted, not a kalimba. They are quite different. kalimba is just a generic name-mbira is the sacred instrument of the Shona people in Zimbabwe. Kind regards, Joel Laviolette http://www.rattletree.com PS: here is a youtube of me playing mbira: https://www.yo...

Re: Answers is useless - please reopen Users Help Exchange

I'm in the pub, not manning a helpdesk. I may give you a solid answer, I may drunkenly abuse your mother. It's how i like it and why I'm in the pub. The landlord may choose to close it, but it won't make me work the help desk instead. Well said. Simmerdown-you don't get it...It's not about question...

Answers is useless - please reopen Users Help Exchange

I tried answers for the first time a couple days ago. No answer to my (pretty advanced) question. Also, I see very little activity on other questions... Albeton-you tried Answers - we don't like it. You had a community of dedicated users helping each other out and helping foster a sense of creativit...

Bouncing external stereo pair as master?

I use an external soundcard with 12 outputs. I have several tracks set to External out 1/2 and several set to 3/4, etc. How can I set the master to 1/2 so that I can export all those tracks as a stereo pair? As it is now, I have to go to each of my external out tracks and reroute it to "master&...

Re: Why does my export sound so different that what I'm hearing

Yes, I use both Cubase 5 and Ableton. Until Ableton lets me comp tracks, it will remain that way. I know about dithering, etc, but when testing a mix I like to bounce to 44.1 to put it on a CD or even to an MP3 just to check the mix. I often have 20+ rewired tracks and to have to commit every one of...

Re: Why does my export sound so different that what I'm hearing

Shame that is considered "good practice" I never have to do that in Cubase. I use many many rewire tracks on some songs and want the freedom to make small changes as Itest mixes (hence the bouncing down). I bounce down to test some things, and to have to bounce every rewired track is a rea...

Re: Small but annoying bug - Copying clips from arrangement

Hmm-I'm not duplicating it right now either for some reason. Perhaps I had still had the global set to 4/4 accidentally. I'll check more and see if I can reproduce this.

Re: Small but annoying bug - Copying clips from arrangement

This is a large set with several songs. I change tempo and key signature for each song by renaming the scene "Song One 120BPM 12/8".

Maybe it has something to do with that, but when I record a clip in a 12/8 song, it is recording as 4/4.

Why is the I-O greyed out in my session view?

I did something and now the I-O button is greyed out in session view-but not arrangement view. Anyone know why that would happen?

Re: Why does my export sound so different that what I'm hearing

I'm not at my comp now, but I'm not doing anything unusual there-44.1/16 wav file from the master bus. Not dithering and not normalizing.

It has something to do with automation being read or not being read on a couple of the instruments.... The instruments are all rewired from reason.

Why does my export sound so different that what I'm hearing

During playback, everything sounds fine. When I export the master track, some instruments are very loud while others are quiet. What should I be looking for? I have every track routed to master, and I have some automation in the Arrangement view.

Thanks for any help...so frustrated...

Is there a way to quickly clear the whole arrangement view?

Can I select and delete all the clips in arrangement view with some sort of shortcut? Thanks!

Re: Studio One is leaving Ableton in the dust.

In general I am still super happy with Ableton. It does things that no other DAW can do easily (for me). Maybe Bitwig will blow it away, but they haven't even started beta testing, and I am making music today. I know everyone has different needs, but I just really wish they'd do only a handful of th...
