Re: OH NO!!! Major Functionality Gone Live8->Live9
Oh, well, bad move then, seems I will have to stick to Live 8, can't live without complex rhythms... Unless - MIDI stretch, where is that option?? ... Not sure about Live 7 question though, normally MIDI and Audio scale together if you change the tempo, if the tracks are mutually out of time then it...

OH NO!!! Major Functionality Gone Live8->Live9
Hi All, Sorry for the shout, maybe not so major but definitely killed my invaluable tricks. The orig. tempo control from the MIDI clips is gone. This was the only way to create accurate quintuplets, septuplets etc.... also MIDI file processing is hereby made more difficult, not to mention the lack o...

Re: Inverting frequency content
FFT can do that, a basic inversion does not sound much, especially if you don't deal with the phase spectrum then it is likely to sound like a bunch of short soft sinewaves, like a bad mp3, inverting specific regions should be more fun, a proper phase vocoder with oscillator bank resynthesis might b...

Re: LFO with white noise generator?
update rates max out at about 50Hz, which does not come close to the spectral characteristic of auditory white noise as we know it..... if you want faster modulation you need to build it all into a single m4l device....

Re: pitch analysis to parameter.
yeah, not sure if there is a paper, maybe he figured it doesn't work in the end...
it's too good to be true, finding a pitch even if the fundamental is filtered out... hell yeah...
you have wavelet transform running? anything you would share?

Re: pitch analysis to parameter.
you can buid a pitch-follower with auto-correlation and adaptive filters too... however I would love to see Griesinger's 'plus-minus' pitch follower implemented - it seems the most wonderful design with no repercussion in the trade, just caught a glimpse of it in one of his slide shows....

Re: building a simplified "grain delay" in M4L
it would be asynchronous = randomized grain timing... you would have to use poly~ to get a vast amount of overlapping layers, inside poly~ it should be a delay line that changes delay time only when the envelope is off. check out the zb.granulator on maxforlive.com - it is recording into a buffer an...

btw. this does not use the fastest envelope follower - called instantaneous - which you could snitch from zb.ampMod on maxforlive.com.....

Re: APC40 encoder initialization?
hm, I'll try changing the banks, one thing sure when the set loads the MIDI mapped knobs do not read the parameter values....

Re: APC40 encoder initialization?
also - 'blue hand' mappping actually reads the parameter values and adjusts the 'endless knobs', however, the 'manual' mappings do not retrieve the value and use the selected takeover mode, as if the knob wasn't endless...
