Check your RAM as well... I used to have the same problem with my PB, and it ended up being a 1GB RAM that was dodgy.

If I were you, I'd build my set in Live 4 first, and then make a copy that I'd try to rehearse with using Live 5, and see if it works according to your expectations.

I have Live 4 AND Live 5 versions of all the sets I use @ gigs and on tour (I'm a freelance drummer/producer).

Maybe you checked this already, but try to see if there's no invalid sign (such as accented letters or ">") in your folders' names or in your HD's name.

Longer samples in Impulse, time signature on scenes

I have two wishes:

First, to be able to put the "Decay" function in Impulse to "none", which would let me use much longer samples in that instrument and have it behave closer to an MPC.

Second, to be able to establish a time signature per scene, exactly the way one can establish tempo.

Tempo bug?

I have a strange bug happening these days: When my live set has been running for quite a while, sometimes the tempo becomes crazy (like four times the speed) for a few bars.

Also, the other day, in the middle of a show (!), all of a sudden, my audio card wasn't recognized anymore! I had to restart ...
