Check your RAM as well... I used to have the same problem with my PB, and it ended up being a 1GB RAM that was dodgy.

I have two wishes:
First, to be able to put the "Decay" function in Impulse to "none", which would let me use much longer samples in that instrument and have it behave closer to an MPC.
Second, to be able to establish a time signature per scene, exactly the way one can establish tempo.
