Re: sonox inflater

It's kind of a compressor/limiter but does not work in the normal way. It is neither of those. In it's essence it is a distortion unit from the 'harmonic exciter' category. It creates harmonic distortion to programme material you put through it and it does so according to very specific algorithms. ...

Re: James Holden vocal treatment

The track is The MFA - The Difference It Makes

It sound like the abuse of autotune to create that pitch glitchy effect.

Re: Using Logic Instruments in Live via Soundflower

If I can use my Logic sounds in Live, then it would be worth it to me. But, I'd rather get the freeware version running though. Of course, nothing can compete with the price of free. Unless you get a much more stable program in return (which it was in my case). I'd rather pay and have something tha...

Von Stinkenhaus wrote:Thanks for the reply. So someone picked up Soundflower and you have to pay for it now? Nice.

Routing is the same as what I have going now.

Rogue Amoeba did not pick it up. They further developed it.

Re: Using Logic Instruments in Live via Soundflower

I see this question pop up more recently. In THIS video I explain how to set it up. The video is about Loopback instead of Soundflower. But the way you set your in/outputs is exactly the same.

Re: Using Logic X Alchemy inside Ableton

It's really easy to use and more stable than Soundflower was. Try the demo. Also, does this method enable Logic & Abeton to sync and can you use midi lanes within live for Logic instruments? Cheers Yes, just use Ableton's External Instrument device to get the audio from Logic into Ableton and the m...

Re: Using Logic X Alchemy inside Ableton

So it seems this is now possible using Loopback (https://rogueamoeba.com/loopback/) Is anyone using Logic inside Ableton this way, or is there a better alternative? I'm just wondering how much of a workflow killer it might be or if it's quite easy. Cheers for any thoughts you have  It's reall...

Re: Removing a click from vocals

Hi dafeda, I do audio restoration work with iZotope RX5. That will certainly do the trick. If you do not have any audio restoration software, you can hand the job over to me.

Re: Best audio card for Djing / best quality sound

Two different applications that require different needs to be met.

For studio use I would consider RME or maybe Universal Audio.

For DJ-ing however, Native Instruments hands down. For a DJ-ing card: portable, rugged, simple to use, supported by DJ software and high SPL are at the top of the list.

Re: Third party gate with side-chaining?

There are many great ones. All Fabfilter Compressors can act as a gate and have a sidechain input and of course their Pro-G. iZotope Alloy 2 also great. However, using the sidechain input of 3rd party plugins in Ableton Live is a real pain in the ass.

I know exactly what you mean It has to do with the streamlined integrated process of production today There was a time when artist made demos and the production process was apart from this composition phase Example If you google for the depeche mode tracks enjoy the silence and walking in my shoes ...
