Clip Start Time Issues With Collect All & Save
Hi! Using Live 9 most up to date version here. I'm running into an issue. Basically I have a 2:30 clip of sound effects that I've scrubbed through and adjusted the clip start and end time. So, essentially, I have one track that has little chops of this long fx sample, some chops are people gulping w...

Is there a way to drag start and end points through a clip length?
I'm not really sure how to ask this question, so I'm really going to do my best to describe what I want to do here. I'm using the latest version of Live 9 FYI. Also, I apologize if this has been asked before. I couldn't find anything via searches and I didn't really know how to phrase the question. ...

Re: Upgraded to 9.6.2 and lost my default template
It's still there I think. On a Mac look in the "~/Library/Preferences/Ableton" folder for "Live 9.0.2" and Template.als inside that. Look it up on Windows. This is exactly what I was looking for, thank you very much! Just took a quick copy/paste/replace of this Template.als file...

Re: Upgraded to 9.6.2 and lost my default template
Would you like multiple templates instead of just the one default? Create a folder "Templates" in your user library, save your template sets there. When double clicked or dragged into the Live window these will start new unnamed sets. See the last paragraph of 5.5.4 Template Sets That's a...

Re: Upgraded to 9.6.2 and lost my default template
Thanks for the answers!
I will test this out in the next few days. I had just spent a few hours building in new tracks with audio effects built in as the default I would hate to lose it.

Re: Sidechaining to layered kicks
I think someone else touched on what I do above. However, I must say there are some super clever SC ideas here with the returns. For live performance (which I don't do) I would totally use that. That said, what I do with my workflow is a little more manual. I use drum racks to build custom kits, and...

Upgraded to 9.6.2 and lost my default template
I just upgraded from 9.0.2 yeah don't judge me.. to the latest version. And I lost my default template! And the only reason I upgraded is because I thought maybe I could do the clip automation in arrangement view (for example - I have a midi instrument with chain selector set to change the bass patc...

Re: Question about hard drive space and how you all manage it
I would recommend deleting all your plugins, samples, etc and just write MIDI tracks and then try to imagine what it would sound like if you had instruments on those tracks. If that quote were a Rocky and Bullwinkle episode it would be titled "How Mozart would compose music today OR What Queen...

Re: Question about hard drive space and how you all manage it
^ I'll do that but I'm confused as to how. Can you record a video of you doing it first to show me how it's done? Someone once told me that if you're in Live and you hit control + alt + F4 that it reduces your CPU usage. I tried it and it's true, you're welcome!

Re: Question about hard drive space and how you all manage it
Yes, good advice. Unfortunately I like to use all of the stuff that is installed. Now back to the sample library issues -login wrote:Uninstall stuff you don't use.

Re: Question about hard drive space and how you all manage it
I have a 2TB external drive, but I've never thought about the sample libraries taking up that much space until I ran the disk inventory app. So, it's cool to have the actual plugin (maschine/komplete family/breaktweaker) and DAW (in my case Live, duh) on your internal drive and store their libraries...

Question about hard drive space and how you all manage it
Hey all, This has never really been an issue for me in the past, but as I've started making more money and being able to purchase more plugins, it's becoming one.. So, I have Live 9 Suite, Breaktweaker, and Komplete 8. That takes up a HUGE amount of storage on my Macbook's internal drive (500GB capa...

Re: APC40 vs Push for macro control live?
I think it was Korg who used to make one of their nano-controller line type products that was just what you mentioned. It was a single unit, retailed for like sixty dollars US, and had 2x4 macro knobs. It was perfect, and I can't seem to find them anywhere anymore.

APC40 vs Push for macro control live?
Real quick for those who have used both. What are your thoughts on controlling group macros in live (so like an instrument rack/audio effect rack) on the APC vs Push? I know one person who when he first got the Push said that he liked the layout of the APC40 MK1 better for controlling macros, but th...

iZotope BreakTweaker - Thoughts from those who have used?
Hey guys, Plugin Boutique is running a sale on BreakTweaker at the moment and I had some extra money to spend this month... so I tested out the trial version and then bought it. I'm still messing around with it and learning what it can do. It's not a terribly difficult learning curve on how to use t...
