Re: Options.txt depreciated in Live 10 ... -DontCombineAPCs workaround?
That link doesn't say options.txt has been deprecated, and it still works for me (I use it for the -enablemaptosiblings command). In fact -dontcombineAPCs is still on it. So not sure what is happening here.

Re: MIDI latency despite all options tried
Just asking a basic thing just in case...this is a PC build right? But you're used to Mac? Are you using ASIO drivers not Windows/DirectX/WASAPI/etc? Win drivers always cause horrible MIDI latency, it's something to do with the way they're prioritised in the kernel I think. ASIO drivers fix it. Your...

Re: Looking for arpeggiator/sequencer or LFO plugin with RATE BPM
All Live's sequencers and arpeggiators will do this, e.g. Ableton arpeggiator plugin and Max LFO, as well as all the LFOs on live's built in instruments. Make sure the sync button is lit (Arpeggiator) and on the LFO the button with the little note on it is lit up not the Hz button. Note button= rate...

Re: Mapping an electronic drum kit
OK so the Alesis probably conforms to GM (General MIDI) standard e.g. Kick on C, Snares on D and E etc. You can see what the GM sounds ought to be by hovering over the pad and looking at the bottom left, or if you open up the I/O and right click on the recieve field you will see a menu with all the ...

Re: Are MIDI Capabilities OK or Weak?
cc messages for e.g hardware synths tend to live in the clips. In most DAWs there is in clip automation which tends to be GM compliant and/or relate to native plugs and the mixer. Then there are automation lanes in the arrange view which tend to be for everything else (mixer settings again, native p...

Re: Post your most obscure Ableton Live knowledge
Well all I can say is I've messed about with it this evening and it seems to work fine for me as long as the grid snapping is on and that it's the fixed grid. And won't really work in a useful way when the grid is switched off completely. Final tidy up of the chat thread :D Looking at the key comma...

Re: Post your most obscure Ableton Live knowledge
Ah no, don't get me wrong, the slicing on the timeline thing is a lot more useful to me than slicing to sampler or simpler and I can see using it a lot. Especially since it also works on MIDI. I just wish it worked consistently for me and/or was properly documented so I could figure out how to make ...

Re: Post your most obscure Ableton Live knowledge
You're right it does change. So that must be due to whether you are using the adaptive snapping. If it's on the normal snapping it works the way that I illustrated. I would assume that this is an undocumented feature. I guess you would normally use sampler or simpler for slicing. OK so. Sort of sol...

Re: Post your most obscure Ableton Live knowledge
That's what I thought but I tried fixed grid as well. I'll keep messing around with it because it would be pretty handy for me if I can make it work.

Re: recording audio from OP 1 into Ableton
OP1 Headphone jack->split stereo lead (what we used to call an ipod lead when they were still a thing, 3.5 stereo mini jack into 2xMono)->2 line inputs on your interface. The USB will send MIDI from Ableton to the OP-1 and vice versa, you can also use it to back up your sounds using shift+com on the...
