Just select the clips (with shift), and while you are dragging them with your mouse press TAB so your view switches over to the arrangement view. Then just drop the clips anywhere you like on a midi channel and they will lay out chronologically.
drag n drop with 1 keypress, ez as that

Re: The OSX Lion Early Adopter Whiners' Depot
I permanently deleted the app store after a week muahahahahah
Also in the last month I've tweaked my system, disabling loads of graphic and cpu intensive processes that were running in the background. My machine works a lot smoother now and has a cooler temperature by about 10 degrees C ...

Re: Tension: does anyone get it?
1. Have you tried reading the ableton live manual chapter on tension?
2. And have you read up about string instruments in general?
Then you'll understand why it doesn't always produce sound when bowed.
I love tension, I use it mostly for kindo experimental futuristic sounds.

Re: Move changes in session automatically to arrangement?
You could just drag the updated clip with the new drums into the arrangement view and replace the old drum clips...
that's what I do. don't see the problem.
If you have automation in your session, click the little lock at the top right so the automation stays in place but clips are move-able.

Re: Macros
I know exactly what you mean.
I spend a pretty long time creating a synth in operator from scratch, then it's time to make some adjustable parameters in the macro's so I can either play with it live on a controller or have key features available for automation in arrangement.

Re: Granular/graintable synth
I've been looking for a good granular synt for a long time, and it looks like Robert Henke aka "Monlake" has put and end to mine and many other's searches.
He made a granular synth but you need Live 8.2.2 or higher for it. Time for upgrading!

Re: Trash the PERCENTAGES/Relative Clip envelopes already.
Hm I can see why people would want that.
But I'm mainly a producer and not really perform songs live or have live installations.
However, you can have send automation running in the arrange view that affects your session, just trigger clips and play completely in the session view, but if you have ...

Re: maschine vs. mpd32
So what about somebody who doesn't want to make hiphop/beats and doesn't like pre-sets or huge sample libraries but rather conceptualising a song and sounds first and then making (sound designing/arranging) that.
I get the impression Maschine is about browsing pre-set libraries very quickly and ...

Midi triggering clips degrades performance VS keyboard trigg
so I set up a live set with 4 basic tracks for instruments.
First I was klicking them with the mouse.
Then I mapped the clip launch button for each track to the keyboard.
Later I deleted that and mapped the same function to my midi controller...
Now whenever I press launch... live becomes all laggy ...

So if I get it right, this stuff will add control PER note.
Instead of appregiating everything or throwing FX on all the output?

Re: Inofaith - Flubsig (dubstep)
Thnx, well the sounds are there.
The structure needs to be worked on now... adding some variations in srums, dropouts weird sound fx etc. to keep things interesting.
Indeed its just a nice intro with some 8 and 16 bar parts afterwards.
What do you mean exactly by cluttered? Is the distorted bass ...
