Not a revelation but oh so true!

Read this http://www.studioreviews.com/killingmusic.htm I couldnt have said it better myself. Damn, I constantly think about putting my atari and hardware samplers together again. A song would be written and mixed down from scratch with that system in 4-6 hours now Im lucky if I can finish a bleepy ...

Re: Anyone using Live as a regular multitrack recorder?

It seems nearly everyone is using Live mainly for loop based music and live gigs. The only loops I use are usually just drum loops and I record just about everything else realtime in audio. Live's interface is so clean for standard multitracking, it enables you to work so quickly. Is anyone using i...

Re: live 5 joykillers

Hi everybody, 1 after using the program for longer than 20 minutes there are disturbing dropouts and ugly clicks. restarting live solves the problem, but you can't really do that during a gig. ! The old build up scennarion. Your not alone I get this also but have no idea why. Im just waiting for th...

They use Logic because they have been using it for years. When the user of logic is a power user after years of learning you really have to see one of these guys in operation to understand why for many a switch is not an option. I used to be a lOgic user but was far from a power user. Many logic use...

hi DJRetard, I tried it with 'A-Kick Gretsch 1 Room A.wav' from Live 5's content and the only change in sound I could recognice, was the fade out, that sounded different to the same sample played in arrangement. this was caused by the impulse's envelope (Decay). If you can recognize more changes in...

yes its the fade button. Switch it off and the sample sounds the same. Actually thats a relief as I use Impulse exclusively for drums

I have tried setting all Impulse parameters to neutral but nothing I do produces the same sound as placing the wav on an audio track

Is there a setting on impulse I should be paying particular attention to?

Impulse changes the sound of samples. Bug or Feature?

Can someone try this Create a mid and audio track. Insert an impulse on your midi track and then go to the browser and find a kik drum you like the sound of. Drop it in to an impulse cell and sequence up a little 4/4 one bar kik drum pattern. Now take the very same kik drum from the browser and cre...

Are you just saying that whenever you record midi the notes arnt recorded as you played them?

if so I find this also but hasnt it always been like this?

Ive always found Live to be a problem when recording midi manually especially when you want feel and dynamics in the playing.

Re: Why is Live so slooooow?!?

Compared to all other sequencers I've used, Live is very slow when doing simpler tasks like: - moving clips in arrange view - setting input & output buses - duplicating events My computer is up to speed okay, but it takes around 8 seconds for me to select a clip & drag it elsewhere. Anyone ...

Vinyl based DJing isnt going to vanish anytime soon. There is a stigma using ableton live to dj. Even more so that Traktor.

The new term I have heard for Ableton DJs is Fader Pusher..

Personally I think the trem is justified.
