Re: using Live with multichannel audio interface outputs?
Thank you all for your help - especially 'auditory canvas' for your picture! Problem solved! I had it wired like you pictured (and how i thought it would work!) but for some reason I was still getting audio to the master fader - don't know why? (Maybe I had a send or another channel still going ...

Re: using Live with multichannel audio interface outputs?
I think you're getting confused with what people are trying to tell you.
If you sent all tracks to output 3+4 and your master is outputting on 1+2, then there will be no audio routed to the master, it will all be output to 3+4.
Routing to other outputs on each track effectively removes that ...

Re: using Live with multichannel audio interface outputs?
An audio track only goes to the master track if you want it to! That's why each track has its own "Audio To" selection!
yeah I appreciate that - but I can't disable the master fader or the master fader routing/output - it will only route to one of the 1-8 paired multichannel outputs? The ...

Re: using Live with multichannel audio interface outputs?
But why is the master channel a problem??
"and have outputs direct from each audio channel?" - You dont need to remove the master for this to work?? Just leave it alone..!?
What am I missing?
(Im currently at work, so Im not able to try it out..)
Are you shure its not your audio interfacers ...

Re: using Live with multichannel audio interface outputs?
I dont fully understand what you mean.!? But say you have 3 stereo external outputs. 1+2, 3+4 and 5+6.
Each of these could have their own volum fader, or you could map one fader to affect them all at once.
Ive never used the cue-function, so Im not really qualified on that area..

Re: using Live with multichannel audio interface outputs?
Just use ordinary audio channels. But instead of sending the audio to "master" on the output section on the corresponding channel, send it to "ext.out" and then select 1+2 or 3+4 ect..
Thanks for your help. I had already done this - but I see no way of 'disabling' or 're-routing' the 'MASTER' I/O ...

Re: using Live with multichannel audio interface outputs?
Set up several "master channels" and route them to your preferred external output.
Now you can map one masterfader to all "master channels", or one fader to each channel, or both.
This is what I want to do - but can't see how to create 'new master faders'?! Where do you select this - I can't find ...

using Live with multichannel audio interface outputs?
Hi. Been using Live for a while now but cannot get multichannel audio output - is it even possible?! I only use the live sample triggering cells page (not the sequencing timeline) - running OSX on a mac and an 8 channel 'Art' firewire audio interface.
So far, I have set up the audio interface and ...

Re: kaoss pad midi control of filters etc
i got an kp1 as well and use it for the same purpose... just stroke very quickly on the left edge from up to down for the one axis and left to right on the very bottom edge of the field... this way it only recognise the either X or Y value... the editor is not really needed for that. you basically ...

Re: kaoss pad midi control of filters etc
I'm trying to use an old kaoss pad as a midi controller for audio filters etc in Live 8. However I don't know what i'm doing wrong but both the X and Y values of the pad - seem to match/change together. In midi mapping - both say pitchbend and I dont know of a way to change this to a specific CC ...

Re: kaoss pad midi control of filters etc
hi, i have a kp3 so i dont know if yours is an older version..but with the kp3 editor it is easily sorted out:it lets you decide what cc numbers the pad is sending out, and to decide the way in which the pad sends these messages (with a bit of very useless stuff IMO).i guess there must be an editor ...

Re: Open Sound Control support?
I suspect like me, they were using 'OSCalator' midi to OSC convertor (if on the mac? - there are alternatives for Windows). At least I know I'll have to continue to use this for OSC support in Live 8! Cheers for the sensible response and the vagueness response!

Open Sound Control support?
Does anybody know whether version 8 has Open Sound Control support natively now or do I still have to use a midi to OSC convertor software?
I'm still in version 7 at the moment and am currently playing around with various controller options. I see they now have max support, but cant seem to see ...
