Re: Sync Video on external monitor with Live
Thanks again! I was hoping for an easy method without 2 interfaces and midi cables but I guess you can't have it all

Re: Sync Video on external monitor with Live
Thanks but this also requires the seconds computer to run Live 9. Live 9 needs at least OS 10.7. but the machine is so old I can't upgrade higher than 10.6. due to hardware limitations.
Guess I have to find a very old school solution to the problem

Re: Sync Video on external monitor with Live
That's what I thought as well but the other computer is so old it can only take mac OS 10.6. maximum. The hardware just can't do more. And Link needs the latest version of Live which needs at least 10.7. as far as I understood?

Re: Sync Video on external monitor with Live
Hey thanks for your quick reply! The thing with the 2nd monitor is how I am doing it now, but I want to free up some CPU on the main machine and also be able to use the 2nd screen for plugin windows.

Re: Sync Video on external monitor with Live
Hello Kal,
I know this thread is already a bit older but did you find a solution back then? I would like to do exactly the same, that's why.
Thanks!

Re: I play guitar and don't know what tempo it is?
Either that or you change the time signature of your Live set. In the top left of the screen where it says "4/4", just click on the numbers and write 6/8. It is in the same part of the screen as the tempo of the set. Time signature changes can also be automated in arrangement view if you n...

Re: I play guitar and don't know what tempo it is?
Hey Ben, I listened to your clip. It is in 6/8 time. The default in Ableton is 4/4, that's probably why you can't play along with the metronome. You can change the time signature by clicking on it and typing in the new one. The time signature is in the top bar, left of the transport buttons. The acc...

Re: I play guitar and don't know what tempo it is?
Try singing the guitar part along with the click. Or sing the guitar part while tapping the tempo in. That is much easier than actually playing it on your instrument since you don't have to worry about all the manual stuff. You can also upload or send me a link to your guitar part, then I can tell y...

Re: Please i need help
Did you select the Launchpad in the Live preferences? In the MIDI tab of the preferences you have to choose which controllers Live should use. You have to select the Launchpad there or Live doesn't know what to do when you plug it in.

Re: magnifying glass shortcut and play from selection
+ and - also work in the sample editor. not as smooth as the magnifying glass but does the job. magnification is always centered at the orange line. as far as i know there is no key shortcut for the magnifying glass (though that would be a great feature...) it is not possible to start from the begin...

Re: Convert audio clips in arrangement view to midi drum track
Create a midi track with a drum rack in it, drag every audio sample to its own cell in the drum rack. Live will automatically put every sample in a simpler device within the rack. OR first consolidate your audio to one single clip if it isn't in one clip already (select all clips, press cmd J). Then...

Re: How can I start a sample in a clip after 8 bars or 6 seconds
You could move the clip to arrangement view, then highlight the clip plus 8 empty bars before the clip. Then press cmd J to consolidate to a new clip and move that one back to session view. It will render the 8 bars of silence in front of the audio as part of the clip.

Re: magnifying glass shortcut and play from selection
1- "+" and "-" key zoom in and out 2- Not sure what you mean exactly. Playback will start from where you have placed the orange line. You can click above the waveform until your cursor turns into a speaker symbol-playback will start from there. Spacebar starts from the orange lin...
