Re: Akai MPD24 update firmware fix.

yeah, all it took for me was an extremely long usb cable. i'm guessing it slowed down (my nano, milli, micro seconds) the transfer rate of information...slow enough for the mpd to understand. thats my guess. i dunno. but it worked!

Akai MPD24 update firmware fix.

Ok. So I've read TONS of way to "unbrick" your MPD24 after trying to upgrade the firmware to 1.10. I just bought my MPD24 today from a dude about to go in the Air Force. I brought it home, and noticed it had 1.09 running. So (like a dummy...in hindsite) I decided to upgrade it to the newest 1.10 fir...

Re: Any San Diego Users?

I'm down to connect. I'm from Fallbrook, but just moved back to North County SD from a long stint in Philly. I currently live in San Marcos. I'm working with Ableton Live 8 and a MBP 13'. I'm a former Akai MPC user. so still trying to figure out the transition from mpc to ableton. - Vic 267.978.6630...

How do I do this?

Alright.. newby question. In the akai mpc2000 you could do different things with a sample, like assign it to the 16 pads at different velocity, decay, or tune. I'm using Ableton Live 8 with my akai MPD24. I have this harp sound/sample that I want to assign to the 16 mpd24 pads but at different tunes...

Re: Philadelphia PA WHERE YA AT?

anthony, your music sounds dope. i dont do electronica anymore...just hip hop, but i actually started out doing house when the scene was poppin' in San Diego/Los Angeles during the late 90's. Let me know if you're down to link up. I'm convinced that linkin' up with some local fellow Ableton users wi...

Re: 'Slice and dice' an audio sample

ok, my first newby question LOL. So in live 8, without "sampler" I cannot load up an audio sample/file like a break beat...and chop it up into pieces (like hat, kick, snare, etc)? Or are you guys saying that "sampler" is just an easier tool to use for doing this... I know in fruity loops when you lo...

Re: Allow me to introduce myself.

I listened to the beats on your friends' website. That's all in Ableton? These are some of the least Ableton-sounding beats I've heard (it seems to my ears that beats made in Live , Reason, MPC's, or Logic, usually tend to be recognizable as such). Inspiring if it's true. Regarding your frustration...

Re: Allow me to introduce myself.

I recently made the same transition as you, it will take you a while to get your head around Ableton (took me a few months to "get it") but once you do, your mind will be blown. My MPC is sitting on my entertainment center collecting dust...and has, since I figured out Live 7. Thats madd encouragin...
