Noob question about samplerate and exporting audio from Live

If I work in a project set to 96KHz, but choose 44.1KHz when rendering, does Live treat the whole project as 44.1KHz, or does it simply downsample at the end?

Freeware RMS tool?

I miss RMS levels. What's the nicest freeware RMS-reading VST plug-in?

Are digital EQs basically the same?

On windows I ilke to use Nebula (advanced convolution kinda thing, recommended but it can be a hassle) as much as I can, and Live's EQ8 for bread and butter (meaning most things as my lappie can't pull that much CPU). Back on OSX I only have EQ8 and the new T-Racks 3 program EQ. Which is nice and al...

ff400, 192 buffer, live 7.0.12, osx 10.4.11. never experienced what you describe, used it for about 4 hours yesterday, in a tune with about 15 tracks. worked far better than my crappy playing 8O the only problem i have with it, besides my playing, is it's high hit on the cpu. Hm, thanks. I suspect ...

What I'm thinking is: if there's any kind of (inferior) 'sample rate conversion' happening when exporting at a different samplerate than the Live set, this must mean the plug-ins, summing, etc. are really *not* working at the chosen export samplerate, but in fact the one in the Live set; only then ...

Just let me get something straight: when the manual (p.436 or thereabouts) warns against doing this (exporting at a higher samplerate than the Live set), why exactly is this? are you referring to chapter 26.3.2 by chance? got the german version of the handbook, so pages might be different. Anyways,...

Hi Krank, you don´t have to manually turn off the warping after audio recording, just for this test. It´ll show you, that a recorded audio file is absolutely identical when either - Warp Is Off, or - there is just the first warp marker set (no timestreching or other altering of the recorded file is...

warping is not a destructive process. do you think that warping has altered the recording ? just record the two tracks and turn off warping on one of the clips and then play them both back at the same time I'm kidding. Though I do find it annoying to have to manually turn off warping in all recorde...

generally speaking: yes, you could do this if all the used plugins support this sample rate (nowadays nearly all do). /edit: ... and all plugins would run @ 96 kHz when rendering at this sample rate. Excellent, if so. Just let me get something straight: when the manual (p.436 or thereabouts) warns ...

Anyway - how can I make this test when everything is warped automatically in the first place? Eh?
