Anyone know what kind of headphones these are?
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/750590/headphones.JPG So I found these in my car the other day. When I looked at them I thought they were some cheap 20 dollar ear buds but when I put them on they sound GREAT! They're really clear and have great (exaggerated) bass. Perfect for when I want to audition tracks ...

Re: more help with my electronic rock band pls
I play in an electro rock band and I never use the arrangement view when performing live. This can be done simpler, but i made my own midi controller, which is just a grid of arcade buttons, four knobs, and two faders. I chop our songs up, put drums on one track, and other elements in another, then...

more help with my electronic rock band pls
So I've been battling with this for a while and I'm kinda stuck on this..... What do I live? So I play in a electronic indie dance rock band. We have 2 vocalists a drummer and myself. I produce all of the music electronically. The songs are traditional verse chorus kind of song form, not so much DJ/...

Help with my Ableton Band Live setup
Hey all so I have a question about the live set up for my electronic rock band. We have some hardware and some backing tracks/synths/samples ect inside Ableton We play the show using the Arrange view to do all the backing tracks and what not. What I'd also like to do is have some midi tracks in Able...

Re: Chaining Multiple MIDI devices? (Poly Evolver)
Not getting rid of the Kurzweil because its an incredibly nice 88 weighted key keyboard.
Figured it out though and everything is working perfectly. Routed the MIDI in fo the Kurz to its output
and now I have a nice chain going on.

Chaining Multiple MIDI devices? (Poly Evolver)
Ok so this seems like such a newbie question to me that I feel silly for asking but its been so long that I've used hardware synths/keyboards that I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around this. So I have an audio interface that has simple one MIDI In and MIDI out. I also have two keyboards: 1 ...

Re: Tips for using Ableton with a full band
Well the drums if they're mic'd will probably just go the house system. The vocals
are still undecided weather to run them into Ableton or just straight to the house (latency is the only concern)
Everything else is loops and synths and effects in Ableton and maybe a bit of Guitar Rig as well.

Tips for using Ableton with a full band
So my band is about to go on our first tour and first set of shows next month. We're an electronic indie pop band. The band consists of two vocalists, a drummer and myself on Ableton. (I also play guitar/keys ect) So originally the way we were doing things is just having the already produced songs p...

Good Resource for Programming FX Sweeps?
So I'm fairly decent at programming sounds but when it comes to really interesting FX builds (specifically in the electro/figet ect genre) I suck pretty bad at programming them. I have plenty of overused FX sample sweeps but I'm trying to step away from that. Does anyone know of any good resources w...

Anyone here in NYC?
Hey all, So I've been a member on this forum for a little while now. However I just recently moved to New York City to further my music career. I previously lived in Washington DC working as a full time producer/engineer for a very large and popular House Music DJ Duo. Just wanted to see if any user...

Would you ever build a Hackintosh for the Studio?
So I used to be a Mac Pro owner. I had a quad 2.66 and it was great. However it was the only computer I had which made performing with Ableton pretty much impossible, so I sold it for a 17" MacBook Pro. I love the laptop and all but for the studio I definitely kinda miss those two extra cores. ...

.......anyways
So where do you guys look for inspiration when thinking of artist names?
Maybe talk about where your name that you use came from?

The bane of my existence: Coming up with Artist Names
I would say I am a fairly creative person but this one thing has plagued me my entire music career. I can't think of non-horrible artist names. To make matters worse I'm working on multiple separate projects right now, meaning I don't need one good name, I need multiple! This is more just me venting...

Re: APC40 and Max4Live
Yes it does say APC40 when you load StepSeq into Ableton. However if you look at the video Novation says you have to put the launchpad into User2 mode. The APC40 doesn't have
User2 mode. Has anyone figured out a way around this? Would love to use this in side Ableton!
