Re: Computer MIDI keyboard layout suggestion

Might this be an option incoming in a Live 11 point update, or already present? :)

Re: Live 11.1 is gating low level audio after 3d party plugins

Check this out [jur], it's a quick example I did elsewhere. A basic sound design method of generating drones/textures. This example has Zebra 2 playing a short note (of the default preset at maximum velocity) and it has Valhalla Vintage Verb placed after it. The note itself is indeed very short, and...

Re: Live 11.1 is gating low level audio after 3d party plugins

These days, it's already a pretty cemented technique in sound design to push also VERY quiet signals through so-called "doom compression" , Yeah, but you're pushing them. That's exactly my point! You're not sending your -102dB signal into your plugin as is, you're raising it to wor...

Re: Live 11.1 is gating low level audio after 3d party plugins

Who cares, it's all about the loudness war anyway  But more seriously, nobody can hear such low levels so... These days, it's already a pretty cemented technique in sound design to push also VERY quiet signals through so-called "doom compression" , both musical and sound effec...

Re: Basic question: export midi to audio

Okay, here's what's happening: You have the instrument loaded fine (in this case, the Simpler device contained in the "Grand Piano" instrument rack preset), and you have a MIDI clip in the session view, containing note events, and the clip is controlling that instrument correctly. However,...

Re: Basic question: export midi to audio

Can you post a screenshot of the Live mixer with the channel showing (that has the grand piano on it)?

Re: Basic question: export midi to audio

What instrument (software or hardware) is providing the Grand Piano sound? In other words, can you describe how have you selected the sound, and where do you literally see the text "grand piano" appearing :) ? The more specific you are in describing this, the more helpful. This might help ...

Re: CPU usage in Live 10

if you want better performance make sure your dedicated (GPU) graphics cards is used when using Live. As we are talking about a relatively simple 2D GUI here, the difference should be negligible (and is) unless there's something wrong with the system. Always test to failure instead of seeing a numb...

Re: How to change the pitch of notes in ableton midi editor

This would be so cool if you could do this (like velocity), but with your keyboard also for a drum note in a pattern. I think you will need to describe exactly, step by step, what you mean by "with your keyboard also for a drum note in a pattern" (what is the pattern controlling and how, ...

Terrific, and I mean TERRIFIC feature boosts in this update. I hope it's stable and reliable as well :). The sidechains not messing with freezing ability is huge all by itself.

Re: CPU usage in Live 10

Oh btw, anyone tried 10.1 final already, are there any surprises in this regard? I'm in the middle of a couple of important work-in-progress projects, so I'm not risking it before I get those off the table, heh.

Re: CPU usage in Live 10

Hello guys, I guess this thread would be the best place to ask the following question. So I'm building a PC right now for the sole purpose of music production and it's looking like this: i7 8700 16GB 3200MHz RAM I guess these are the two most important components that I need to mention. Basically h...

Re: CPU usage in Live 10

Weird that you're getting issues while still having free RAM. Might be a good idea to report this to support@ableton.com Yeah, I wasn't quite expecting that :) ... Glad I tried this, though. Seems like an easy fix for now, if someone else happens to get this behavior and struggling with a project. ...

Re: CPU usage in Live 10

A quick tip that I stumbled upon today: If you are experiencing these slowdowns and are sure your DAW system is configured correctly or even professionally ;) (power states and yada yada, as they should be), try disabling all "RAM" buttons in your project's audio clip details and sampler s...
