Have you ever used other velocity sensitive pads? All of them offer quite poor control over dynamics relative to any kind of real percussion or even decent synth keyboards. If a high quality drum pad unit is what you want then you are stuck with some e-drums or zendrums, both of which are bulky and ...

Yes, it is really rock-solid. The stand is made of thick alu and will not butch. It's is not cheap though.

Yes, that's the one. I mainly used it for my MacBook Pro but it seems to be very stable/rock solid for APC40 too.
