Re: Difficulties in Backup Unlock.cfg In Live8
I have not actually backed up the unlock cfg file, but was the version of live that you backed up version 8.2.1? maybe if the unlock was from an earlier version of live 8 that could cause a problem when you tried using it with 8.2.1 ? It could also be that because your os changed (32 bit to 64 bit),...

Re: i7 with Win7 64-bit - Ableton Live high CPU usage
whats your sample rate set to? I experience higher cpu usage with higher sample rates, as there is more for the CPU to do...have you recently started using higer sample rate than you previously have? You could try some workarounds in the interim, such as bouncing down/freezing tracks, or decreasing ...

Re: Live 8 still runs even when ending task on Win Vista/7
I think this has something to do with how long windows allows crashed tasks to run in background before really killing them (or something like that...). During windows 7 beta i noticed the same thing and did a search at the time and found some answers...but I have since forgotten all if it except th...

I use a RAID level 5 array to backup everything up. I also periodically backup files to DVD.

Re: The ideal sample rate / bit depth
Personally I use 96kHz sample rate. I use virtual instruments, and the higher sample rate sounds better to me than 44.1 or 48. Probably would vary depending on virtual instrument used (internal oversampling or not, DSP algorithms used...) and your specific setup though...do some test runs with with ...

Re: Who is using Live 8 on Windows 7 64bit ?????
I am using it, and have not really noticed any issues - I let windows manage the memory and swap files and all that. I think as long as your audio interface has windows 7 x64 drivers that work, you should be ok.

Re: rewire Logic 9 and Live 8 audio
There is also a program/API/thing called "Jack", it exists for Windows, Mac, Linux. I used it on windows to route audio out of Live, into Max/MSP, then take the audio from Max/MSP and route it back into Live. http://jackaudio.org/ Sounds like you are doing same thing, except on Mac OS and ...

Re: Groove quantize bugs - Base and note length
just confirmed it is still problem in 8.0.4 and 8.0.5b2 ... (particularly the commit issue - if you run in non-destructive mode the clip will play as what the current groove settings are...as soon as you hit commit, it will commit with the same base setting as the very first commit you did with that...

Re: Pulsating Bassline
Also, in the past I have imported songs into Live then used the tempo/looping and warp controls to slow sections waaaaay down so I could hear exactly what was happening, and then tried to rebuild what I heard to learn how a particular rhythm or lead or whatever was put together...that could help too...

Re: Pulsating Bassline
To me it sounds like 32nd notes playing on the "and-a" of the beat. +1 for the sound having some sine wave component for that low end and short attack/release. Having a similar/same tempo might also help you dial in the rhythm (~128bpm)
