A transient shaper…..

….. is missing and would be greatly appreciated!

Think SPL transient designer or the one by Elisia via Plugin Alliance. Really useful for manipulating audio loops.

Thanks 🙏

Re: EQ plugin for DJING

I would 100% use that zone62 EQ but my Launchcontrol XL only has 3 knobs per fader channel! I guess I could assign 2 rows per channel...... On the bottom row of that rack- where you can adjust the frequency bands- where they are set as default is that exactly how the zone62 is set up with relation t...

Re: Simpler - preview sliced breakbeats? Alternative method?

I still favour Kontakt for slicing breaks. Unless I'm missing something obvious I don't think you can zoom into the waveform and move the slice markers as accurately with the built in slicing in Live........?

Awesome! Hopefully won't need M4L......?

Edit- launchpad noob question- will loading a 3rd party script overwrite the factory functions and layout of the LP Pro or will they be in addition to what is already there so to speak?

Re: Launchpad Pro- step sequencer hack?

For anyone that's interested I phoned Novation and spoke to their tech support who were spot on as usual. Good customer service is hard to come by! Anyway I explained my gripes with the lack of sequencer/note repeat and they said a note repeat function may be difficult to implement because of timing...

Re: Different basslines and problems with muddiness

Yes this is where the confusion has come in, the original guy was talking about techno, and without getting into debates about the genre there is mostly (in my mind at least) just the one baseline driving the track with maybe as you rightly said, another element in a higher or lower frequency also ...

Re: Different basslines and problems with muddiness

Well one could imagine two basslines that are very similar, just slightly different notes and effects processing playing around each other. I have tested this quite a bit in the past to good results, but here the problem does not present itself so much as you would seperate them timewise in a call ...

Re: Different basslines and problems with muddiness

That's news to me but hey if it works then it works, there are no hard and fast rules etc! but if you're wanting to play 2 baselines where the same notes trigger at the same time that also occupy the same frequency range then you're going to need to do some tweaking to get it to work. Edit- unless ...

@stromkraft- yes I understand the concepts but I think I misunderstood what you meant by multiple baselines!

Re: Different basslines and problems with muddiness

it might sound weird if they are playing 2 different bass lines Maybe this is the idea? In order to come up with the idea to use 2 basses I assume there is a musical idea behind this. In DnB they are mixing multiple bass lines quite often, sometimes very cleverly and usually using one or several of...

Re: Different basslines and problems with muddiness

Don't trigger 2 baselines at the same time, think call and response. There's simply isn't room, unless one is doing low mids, the other sub bass of the same pattern for example, it might sound weird if they are playing 2 different bass lines

Re: Launchpad Pro- step sequencer hack?

In the meantime does anyone know of any other 3rd party software that adds this functionality for the LP Pro? Preferably not M4L based!

Re: Launchpad Pro- step sequencer hack?

It is a bit rubbish but then I bought it knowing it wasn't in there. I thought I would be ok just finger drumming but then I tried hammering in 16th hi-hat notes in a 125bpm track lol! Rookie error I guess. I mean yes I could slow down the track or draw them in the old fashioned way but with the vel...

Re: Launchpad Pro- step sequencer hack?

Ah excellent news!

Will this require max4 live? And will it feature the fabled mpc style note repeat? :-)
