Re: Making the switch to logic
if the workflow suits you, then go logic.
it is a great program and extremely CPU efficient.
what more is there to say?
i use both Logic8 (don't really need time stretch / warping) and live8
except the session view, you said you hardly need, Logic does all you need with a much greater CPU ...

Re: Partner Instruments
If they want to make a killing they should just create big live packs called : TRANCE, DUBSTEP, DRUM AND BASS, MINIMAL HOUSE. etc.. and watch the masses suck them up. To each his own
Yea those would sell like crazy. I wonder if Ableton would ever go for that, they don't seem like the kind to do ...

CONTRA YOU LIFESAVER!
I was sure I'd seen flatten before in Live and couldn't remember where, been looking for it for about a week now. My CPU can't cope with the drum tracks I'm using currently, this is essential!
Cheers

Everyone falls for that one though right? 30 + 40 looks cheaper than 70.Tarekith wrote:Looks interesting. A tad expensive if you want more than a couple, but I guess that's expected.
I'd love to try some of them out, those previews sound really nice.

I think these look not too bad pricing wise? Some of the atmospheric sounds are looking very appealing.
Where did this come from though? Total curveball, wasn't expecting Ableton to announce anything like this

APC custom mapping - simple?
Hey guys,
So if I understand correctly, mapping any control on the APC40 to a different parameter than the stock template provides is as simple as entering midi map mode, clicking whatever you want mapped and moving the knob right?
For some reason, when I enter MIDI map mode, none of my APC40 ...

My current setup..

Can't believe I waited this long to get an APC40 though. Got my first set in front of real people (as opposed to friends etc) in a few weeks time!
