Re: Record set straight from Xone 96 to Ableton
Hi - bit late to the party but I've been doing the same recently with my PX5. You want Ableton to be recording 9/10 (not 11-12) and you also need to make sure the little white switch on the back pannel is set to the correct position otherwise it will just record the FX. Hope that helps. I recorded a...

Re: Will Wavetable come with Live Standard, or only with Suite?
Whats a little annoying about this is that I have Standard but it was upgraded with a lot of the Suite instruments a while back (when you could buy them separately). So technically I pretty much have Suite 9 (apart from Max, which I'm ok with) but now I have to pay a lot to get Wavetable, which I wo...

ibm looks good but thats a proper laptop with a proper price tag!
the dell netbooks are just over 200, which is enticing.

Re: any use a RME FIREFACE 400 for PC & Mac?
by the way.... the RME is amazing! It sounds leagues about other interfaces I've used (admittedly these were much cheaper m-audio ones)
Highly recommended.
and works on both of my machines perfectly.

Re: MINI LAPTOPS - any one using ???
Im really interested in the possibility of running Ableton on one of these little machines (was looking at the new Dell mini 10) as I'm going travelling soon for 6 months and want to be able to sketch out some music. If it can't do ableton (on XP) I guess the key is to use old software like Acid, d...

Re: The New Warping style in Live 8
yes but he's talking about Version 7.#1thelark wrote:Read carefully.
There's just one marker at the beginning, set1.1.1 here, warp straight, then drag a grey marker at the end. Save. Done.
It's really easy unless there's tempo changes in the song or intros without percussive elements.
8 is quite different.

Re: The New Warping style in Live 8
Check this technique... works quite well for electronic music. It won't help you with old drifting songs though... http://lmnopelementary.blogspot.com/ cheers -yeah thats rougly how i would do it in version 7 - although i wouldnt have loads of yellow markers like that. just do the beginning and end...

Re: The New Warping style in Live 8
im really struggling with the new warping for whole tracks... I think its probably better for loops but ffor DJing I find it as bit frustrating. the thing is, a whole electronic sequenced track is a constant tempo, should it should just need one starting marker and then rest should slot in in re-pit...

Re: Mixed in Key & Ableton
but bare in mind that if you use it in re-pitch mode then when tracks are fitted to the same tempo, some tracks will be off by fractions of a semi-tone and therefore could sound out of tune.
