Ok. Ignore this thread. Reinstalling Reason made the problem go away.

apologies
whoops, my bad regarding reason as master: reason doesn't work as a rewire master with live. it says so right on the features page.
but, there is still my remaining problem of why reason won't open as a rewire slave anymore.

slight correction
if you load reason first, then when you load live, live complains that it can't open reason, probably because it's a rewire master. so you have to open live first.
but i thought one of the points of live 2.1 was that it worked in rewire slave mode?

Upgrade to 2.1 problem
Hi, Today, I did the following things. I am on OSX 10.2.6, starting with Live 2.0.3: 1) downloaded Live 2.1 for OSX non-Japanese version 2) decompressed it and put it in my Applications/Music Apps directory 3) ran Live At this point, a very odd thing happened. MakeAlias crashed (if you want a copy o...

Hi esoterica, I understand your point. But nevertheless, with a 150 buck aftermarket soundcard, the total price of my PC setup is vastly less than that of an iBook. In many senses I agree with you. My preferred computer is my TiBook. Part of my reason for this is that I find that the TiBook platform...

I use a Western Digital Jumbo 200 GB drive, 8MB cache, in an external Firewire Wiebetech SuperDesktop GB enclosure. I have not gigged with it, but, I did some performance testing and found that the file transfer rates are right in the neighborhood of your internal laptop drives (some tests it actual...

I am only following this out of interest, not because I think the Live paradigm for non-MIDI beat-syncing is wrong or anything. I'm just curious. Why do you say the behavior would be unpredictable? Is it because the real-time calculation of the offset into the triggered loop would either be error pr...

Interesting!
This is very interesting to me. Is there a technical reason Live could not be told to behave like this, in real time: 1) when 'b' is triggered, and 'real time quantisation' is set, do the following: a) note the time 'b' was triggered b) calculate the most likely point at which 'b' should have starte...

Clarification
No, not a per-track effect on every track. On my song that I am referencing from, I think I have one effect on track 1, one on track 2, one on track 3, and then all tracks 1-6 send to one or more of the three send effects. I bet I could squeeze a little bit more out, but during live-in recording at ...

TiBook 667
Hi man, I have a TiBook 667 with 1GB RAM and the default 30 GB HD. I have an external FW SuperDesktop GB+ with a WD Jumbo 200 (8MB buffer). I find that the performance for a song with 6-8 long audio tracks (ie. Live used as a tape recorder for acoustic performances, then used to do touch ups, redos,...

Revision
Hi, This is to Monolake, and everyone at Ableton: There is a difference between appreciation and suggestion. I can disagree with some of the things you do, and I can have suggestions, all the while, appreciating the vast majority of what you do. And this is the case for me. As I said in my original ...

Agree with geargasm, others.
Hi, I am a happy, contented user of Live who is looking forward to more performance. As such, I have had no negative experiences with Live or the Live crew. But I wanted to throw in my agreement on a few points here, so that you know that others have thought the same things: 1) You *never* on a publ...
