Re: Footswitch M4L Patch for Looping
Sure, though I've tried both.. Where exactly are you hosting the Clip Control device? To confirm the procedure: 1 Drag Clip Control to an audio/midi track with instrument 2 Map sustain pedal to control the button (set on absolute) 3 Set to Record mode 4 Arm the track and highlight an empty clip 5 Hi...

Re: Footswitch M4L Patch for Looping

Re: Footswitch M4L Patch for Looping
Hi Peter Thanks for the download link! I was able to load it into my session and I've successfully mapped my sustain pedal to control the button. (I also have "Select on Launch" activated.) However, I've been unable to get the button to perform any controls on audio tracks, midi tracks, or...

Re: Footswitch M4L Patch for Looping
Hi Peter
Thanks so much for your help. I'll take it for a test drive and intend to give some feedback.
I apologize for my ignorance but can you briefly me walk me through how I use this code to get the patch running?
Alternatively, is there a downloadable file I can run?

Re: Footswitch M4L Patch for Looping
Peter - I understand, no problem. I really am grateful at any pace, as it would probably take me much longer to dive in (which I plan to do when I find some free time as well!)

Re: Metadata tagging in Live, or an Alternative Solution
Thanks for the recs. I'm debating between The Phat Conductor's method and Iced Audio. With Iced Audio, does anyone know if you can take one audio file, and set 5 different cue-start/cue-end points as separate catalogs - without duplicating the underlying file 5 times? That will probably be pretty ke...

Metadata tagging in Live, or an Alternative Solution
Say you have an mp3 clip that features these qualities: " 808 bass ," " downtempo ," and " epic ." You want to tag hundreds of your clips so that you have a searchable database that is able to return to you all the clips of audio that are "epic" AND "down...

Re: Using a trackball instead of a mouse!
With your respective trackballs (and I know there is a variety out there), is it easy to rest your hand on the right side and somewhat operate it at an angle (instead of hand facing flat onto the table)?
Thanks,
James

Footswitch M4L Patch for Looping
I bought a sustain pedal and am planning to develop a M4L patch that does this: 1) When a clip slot is selected, hitting the sustain pedal starts recording in that clip slot. 2) Hit the pedal another time. It ends the recording, enables it as a loop, continues playing the clip. 3) Hit the pedal anot...

Re: fastest workflow audio editor for bread/butter editing for M
Can't you open the sample in an external sample editor that you specify in your preferences? Just have that running alongside Live so you don't have to restart it all the time.

Re: Keyswitching in ableton:
That seems like a very creative workaround though I'm hoping there could be another solution. Maybe ableton can support multiple key mappings to a singe knob in the future.

Keyswitching in ableton:
Say you have a macro knob that controls a synced lfo. Is it possible to midi map one keyboard note (C1 for example) to activate the 1/12 rate, D1 for 1/16, and so on? I want to be able to keyswitch bc the knob isn't precise enough for me to make quick changes. Is keyswitching possible or would I hav...
