Not sure. I'm thinking the Novation Remote 25 at the moment. I'm gonna try a few out this weekend, but that's what I'm leaning towards right now. Good choice. I have the X Station and it's best damn midi controller. Built like a tank and all the controls feel awsome. The remote series is pretty muc...

Live is a toy, go back to using a pro daw like cubase. Midi support is primitive and laughable.

Your kiding right? Live is a toy, go back to your old sequencer to use pro features. Midi support right now is laughable at best.

Re: I don't get it

[Hell man, your setup has more juice than mine, wish I had it! I don't ever use Live live either; strictly as my main DAW like you. But even with your track setup listed above you're only getting a 40% peak/25% avg CPU usage ... so what's the problem? Apparently, you can almost double your track an...

Never thought I'd consider going back! I just did exactly that. Cubase SX3 is running the same project I was getting crappy performance with using only 10% cpu.... 17 tracks + 10 plugins. I'm done with Live... now I just need to upgrade to a dual core and use my old box with fx teleport and I'm all...

well i didnt want to make this a live vs cubase thread. i just for once want to see something on an update patch that says they improved performance significantly on live. because if you do some research/searching, you'll see how evasive ableton is on performance issues and how its almost taboo to ...

er, you forget that Live is about instant live performance. Cubase is not. There is much more going on under the hood for Live in playback than there is for Cubase. I understand the desire and need to compare, but the engines for these apps are optimized in different ways for different uses. Go ahe...

Tired of Poor performance?

http://www.steinberg.de/Steinberg/Company/NewsItem_12072005_sx31_eu.html Additional processor optimization means that Cubase SX/SL 3.1 supports not only Mac and PC multiprocessor systems but also the latest AMD and Intel DualCore processors as well as Hyperthreading and DualCore over dual processors...

I must say, I'm a performance nut... but I really really really like Live though... I'm much more productive in Live... I must say though, steinberg seems to care more about performance and has more pro features. Here are my main issues with Live 5 right now: - Audio engine is not multi-threaded... ...

Yeah, try playing around with the plugin buffer sizes. I have mine set at "As Audio Buffer". Like I said, I only use up 1% per plugin.. even if your using reverb you shouldn't be going past 1-2% cpu as the whole point of the uad-1 is to offload processing. hehe

So we have Live 5 and no dual core support? Wow... prices on dual cores are cheap... $450 Cdn for a 3Ghz Intel dual core...
