I'd be down for some Live houseboatin'. None of my friends are into electronic music.
Can we keep it in Seattle? I'd be arriving by moped.

You'd be surprised. It's an antique music stand. Probably the most heavy-duty thing I own.tlennon wrote:@Josh - That stand for the launchpad doesn't seem very stable. Did you tie it down?

Re: Attention users of Sony MDR-7506 and V6 headphones...
The left ear buds of my brand new pair of 7506s just inadvertently fell out, so I'm getting a kick out of this thread.
You could say it's a bad romance.

Word.
Whenever I'm in a rut rhythmically, I queue up Bleed and New Millenium Cyanide Christ. Then I end up trying to do that stuff in Live.

Upgrade path for Intro users?
Intro user here. I'm awfully tempted to spring on the $279 upgrade to "regular" Live 8, but I'm wondering if I should hold off and spend the $599 on Suite. Does anyone know what the upgrade cost from Vanilla to Suite is? Is Suite worth it for someone who has Logic (with it's included synth...

Re: Poll: how many of you play live?
I plan on it this year. Just moved my Mac and my Kurz PC3x into a rehearsal studio this weekend. Being loud rules, but I'm finding that I really need an APC or a Launchpad or something. Maybe both.

I'm going to be carting a Mac Pro back and forth to my new rehearsal room starting this weekend. Ugh. Maybe it'll look sexy on stage.

Re: When's the next Seattle user meeting?
There was a myspace page that sent me updates but I have been to it in over a year. http://www.myspace.com/abletonseattle Doesnt look like anyone has logged into it since June. So it goes I don't know if I want to sign up for myspace just to get ahold of someone that's dropped the ball. If I put so...

Re: Anyone using regular hardware synths as controllers?
I have the Polar's 8 envelope knobs set up as a generic controller in Live, since their layout matches Live's macro rack knobs exactly. I was wondering if there was a consistency in knob usage this way. On my Kurz, it's just sliders with "MIDI #" on them, so I try to make them do the same...

Anyone using regular hardware synths as controllers?
Kurzweil PC3x is doing a pretty good job so far. Easy to set things up in Live's MIDI mapper. My Logic 8 weeps.
Just thought we should have a proper "doing things the hard way" thread.

Reaktor's Space Drone ensemble does the trick. Heck, any drone ensemble from Reaktor will do what you want.

I'm new to Live (7LE + Kurzweil PC3x), and have been having so much fun learning it that I can't be bothered to lurk on forums at home.
