Re: New clip from selection
Yeah, I resample a lot, but that involves having an extra audio track. Inevitably, that audio track ends up with an effects rack I like, and so I make a new resample track. My life becomes inundated with audio tracks.

New clip from selection
As a sound designer, I love using Live's session view to get a bunch of ideas down fast. Sometimes, I have more than one sound on a single clip (especially if I've imported from my field recorder). When I'm making music, I sometimes want to take a clip apart and build a beat/soundscape/vocal part fr...

Re: Arturia 49 Analog Experience The Laboratory & Live - Help!!
Check it out: http://www.arturia.com/evolution/smf/index.php?topic=5322.msg17511#msg17511 This page has a list of solutions to common problems with Arturia stuff. Do a search for 'transport' and you'll find your answer to that as well. I've been using my Lab49 for almost 2 years now in Live without ...

Re: interested in handheld recorders? Zoom H6
Yeah, it's pretty slick. I find that the XLR inputs are too noisy to capture really quiet sounds, and setting the gain is a PITA, but all-in-all it's very usable. I may need to get the H6 sometime, but for just a couple hundred more, I might as well just get a Fostex fr2-le.

Re: interested in handheld recorders? Zoom H6
I've been using my iPhone for field recording with halfway decent results. I usually end up chopping the shit outta the sounds anyway for my productions. But it would b nice to have a proper recorder. I only wanna spend like $150 at the most tho. Any suggestions. Been doing research but kinda comin...

Re: Top 5 things I will regret after going from Live8 to Live9
So the browser seems to be the main problem... BTW : is it possible to disable indexing ? I don't want Live to index all my 126 thousands of .wav files (lots of gigabytes)... Is it possible to disable all indexing features? No. The indexing will take a long time, so if you're planning on trying 9, ...

Re: Status of Ableton Share?
Old post, but new curiosity... Is ableton sharing ever going to re appear? It was a genius idea, and an important one for modern collaboration now that we have pretty fast internet connections. Please bring it back! Dropbox, iCloud, Box.com, LiveDrive... There are tons of cloud solutions these days...

Re: arturia cs80v
It sounds great, but the UI is shit. I hated making sounds with it so much, I sold both of my V3 licenses. Kudos to Arturia for keeping their older synths up to date, though.

Re: L9 Library slow on external SSD USB 3.0 Drive?
As always, TomsHardware makes for a good read: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/usb-3-uas-turbo,3215.html I found this a while back while researching external SSHDs. It's pretty thorough without being overly technical. The gist of it is that there are two protocols for transferring data over USB....

Ok, so what was your point?Theo Void wrote: Well obviously. I didn't make the shit did I? I figured that was a given. I thought we were speaking of different user models. Buying and owning a license vs. subscription.

Re: Software Pricing
Like 'most people' Theo Void I've never really read to licensing on my copy of Live... but I bet it says; oh, yes it does "installing, copying or use of this product do not acquire any ownership rights to the Software". Therefore, Ableton still own the software on your machine :( So how m...

What model is the enclosure? Many on the market are inadequate for SSD drives.

Re: Software Pricing
Another thing to remember is that each software sale incurs a potential cost to the developer. Technical support is expensive, but required for anyone who wants to stay in business. This means that the cost of the software needs to be high enough to cover those costs as well as limit the amount of b...

Re: Live 9's library is horrible
Those are all valid points. But its such a hassle to collect all the AU presets that Live 9 put in the User Library, instead of it's own folder. Now I didn't know I could put them in my own folder and then rescan, that helps a bit but still that's an extra step just to keep things organized. And as...
