No offence taken,I know what you mean these things can be a bit grey to say the least.

If you read my last post you'd know I took it back and posted the reply from the help desk which has fixed the problem no worries, however the post on MAX is true,it was a cut and pasted from the Ableton website.

Hi Rob,

please make sure that you have not only selected the APC 40 as a control surface with the input/output port, but also activated "Track" and "Remote" for the APC´s input ports in the track list below.
