Well, that got me focused on my next upgrade: Does anyone know the prizing of a good V-drum set, like Ddrum, Roland V-drums, and doesn't Clavia got a set or two, too (what about "Drum Workshop" - they should have at least a set or two..?) -And if there exists some I have missed out here, ...

not at all, your octapad is the perfect v-drum/live companion for recording/triggering loops.

I have mine integrated into my v-drums set.

I would LOVE to have my own drum set. Sadly, my neighbours would not enjoy it, so I am forced to find ways around it. dont think so, but you can put down an impulse track and use that instead.

if your playing to a clicktrack, its a good idea to have the click be on 2 and 4, or 1 and 3, but not an annoying "Click clock clock clock Click..." every beat. Use it as a grid marker, not as something setting the groove.

Thats one of the reasons I love live. I used to record midi, then edit the midi, but editing the midi (quantizing) always killed the feel.

no, I hve my clips quantized, but im recording audio into them, so, inside a clip, its all groove.

and ya, playing to a perfect click is damn tough.

anyone have any issues with an motu traveler?

every now and then, when I get a lot of sound playing, it will stop the sound, output a high whine, then start playing sound again.

kinda bummed, cause besides that, it works like a champ.

I have a midi track firing clip record functions via IAC for each song, we just spend about a day per song scripting/arranging/figuring out how and when to play each part. It sounds to me like you are mixing up clip quantization (set with each clip, can be set to follow 'global') and global quantization (at the top of the screen).
