Re: Is a Firebox or an Ultralite hotpluggable?

I don't mean to mislead anyone and maybe I should rephrase. I'm not com
pletely sure my firebox is fried b/ c of hot swapping. something happened to it that I'm wondering if anyone else has experience with. just a warning to all you folks too.

MBP 2.4ghz + FIREBOX + ONYX 1220 = FIREWIRE PROBLEMS ....

so, i have a MBP 2.4 GHZ 10.5.8. everything moving along happily, hot-plugging my devices, before i knew there was a term for it. first the firewire card on my mackie 1220 onyx stops being recognized, i think i had it chained to my firebox, then recently, discovered at a gig mind you, the i/o on my ...

Re: Is a Firebox or an Ultralite hotpluggable?

bringing this conversation to the present. i'm pretty sure my firebox is fried due to hot-swapping. mainly because i'm pretty sure the firewire card on my mackie onyx board is fried as well, not even recognized anymore! on the firebox, the i/o is completely f**t. i'm not certain it is b/c of hot swa...

Re: Famous people who use the Akai APC-20!

i like it.

i have the mpd32 and was considering the apc 40,
but really wanted my larger pads for more
percussive type triggering. the apc 20 will fit nicely
giving me session control and a smaller sized unit.

some knobs and that crossfader would be nice tho.

Re: MBP 2.4GHZ W/ TI CHIPSET AND PRESONUS FIREBOX. **help**

funny video!

i'd rather have the option for a louder headphone than the other way around.
however, since i'll be using to DJ also, i'll probably be plugging into one of the outs
in the back. do those get just as loud as the headphone jack in the front?

Re: MBP 2.4GHZ W/ TI CHIPSET AND PRESONUS FIREBOX. **help**

thanks for the insight.

so you're saying that by using a 9V battery you could bypass
the power adapter to bus power the firebox?

do you have to do this every time?

Re: MBP 2.4GHZ W/ TI CHIPSET AND PRESONUS FIREBOX. **help**

weighing options.
my current dodgy m-audio that's bus powered

or

a solid firebox w/ power adapter.

i'm leaning toward the latter.

anyone else?

Re: MBP 2.4GHZ W/ TI CHIPSET AND PRESONUS FIREBOX. **help**

arctic ranger, i feel the same way, even if i had to plug it in, i would prefer it to the m-audio nightmare i'm currently cursing at. there's a way to find out what chipset you have, you can restart your mbp while holding down cmd s it'll load a bunch of stats and halfway down the page will say fire...
