I don't mean to mislead anyone and maybe I should rephrase. I'm not com
pletely sure my firebox is fried b/ c of hot swapping. something happened to it that I'm wondering if anyone else has experience with. just a warning to all you folks too.

i have the mpd32 and was considering the apc 40,
but really wanted my larger pads for more
percussive type triggering. the apc 20 will fit nicely
giving me session control and a smaller sized unit.

some knobs and that crossfader would be nice tho.

i'd rather have the option for a louder headphone than the other way around.
however, since i'll be using to DJ also, i'll probably be plugging into one of the outs
in the back. do those get just as loud as the headphone jack in the front?

so you're saying that by using a 9V battery you could bypass
the power adapter to bus power the firebox?

do you have to do this every time?

weighing options.
my current dodgy m-audio that's bus powered

or

a solid firebox w/ power adapter.

i'm leaning toward the latter.

arctic ranger, i feel the same way, even if i had to plug it in, i would prefer it to the m-audio nightmare i'm currently cursing at. there's a way to find out what chipset you have, you can restart your mbp while holding down cmd s it'll load a bunch of stats and halfway down the page will say fire...
