HAHAH.. good topic.. and i'm not going to lie.. Djing is easy.. Been djing for 7 years now and its way easier then producing. Got into producing just last year and all i can tell you is that producing is way cooler because if you know how to produce you can be a DJ in no time...!!!

Ya, loops can be very hard to control sometimes. It may take lots of warping to get it right and after you get it right it might not even sound good. I guess this is why i don't like using them lol

Lastly I really am getting tired of the overuse of the term "warmth". The compressor is adding "warmth"? really? What does that sound like? The compressor is not for warmth, it is for dynamics. I recommend using it for it's intended purpose because you can really fuck up the mix ...

True that, A little trick i learned from the laidback luke forum is to produce in mono when using headphones so that you can get your levels more right because stereo can be deceiving in headphones.

how to make a rolling percussion sound

I'm trying to figure out how to make a rolling percussion bell sound. I'm not sure how to do it. I've tried to lay out the midi but its not sounding right. Does anyone know a trick? It can be observed in this track by laidback luke @ 48 sec. THANKS
