This is still an issue as far as I can tell - has anyone figured out a solution?
In the case of a selection containing only a single audio clip It would be nice (and sensible) if Live respected the settings of the clip as it was preconsolidation i.e. whether it had Loop activated or not

Re: Chorus-Ensemble vibrato wave shape
Yeah, FM produces similar results, which may be a hint as to what Chorus-Ensemble is doing, just as you suggest. So it seems to be a result of how the modulation is implemented (which is maybe what the developers meant by 'acoustic illusion'). Just to clarify: Operator, as with most "FM" ...

Re: change loop start/end for multiple audio items in a scene?
Not sure if there's a way to do it in session view but you could move the clips concerned onto arrangement view and use the ctrl-shift-drag slide clip content feature and when you're happy drag the clips back to session view

Re: Chorus-Ensemble vibrato wave shape
Yeah I just checked with a sine wave as audio source and it does indeed jump between two pitches when Vibrato mode's Shape is a triangle. This reminds me of Phase Modulation vs Frequency Modulation - if you modulate a sine carrier by a slow triangle modulator in Operator you will get the same two-to...

Re: Latency being recorded on midi tracks where monitoring is on
Any combination of Reduced Latency When Monitoring and Delay Compensation on/off makes no difference when repeating my above test. But the latency is low enough now that it's working for me at the moment edit 26feb23: Ah OK, part of my problem was also that I had latency-causing devices on the maste...

Re: Latency being recorded on midi tracks where monitoring is on
Does it matter that I have no devices on any of the tracks in my test? There was almost 1/16th of delay in that particular test
edit: idk, I've got it down to a workable delay playing with settings.. I'll see how it behaves

Re: Latency being recorded on midi tracks where monitoring is on
Hi mayabong, I only just bought an external interface (Scarlett Solo) to start recording into Live and discovered the audio version of this exact type of delay (only tested audio recording so far) i.e. I can record to two tracks simultaneously from the same Ext. In. source, but the one with monitori...

Re: Adjust start/end/fade of multiple clips at once?
Hi rdan76, If you happen to be on Live 11 now you can adjust clip fade handles of simultaneous clips by linking the tracks. Note this also requires the clips' edges to be perfectly aligned If the clips aren't perfectly aligned you can also just drag over a small selection that just covers the edges ...

Re: How to align all selected clips together
Ah I forgot about that as I don't often use it. I think that deletes the time for all tracks doesn't it? So if there was content on other tracks that would be removed too?

Re: How to align all selected clips together
Once you've deleted all the bad takes, leaving gaps between clips, select all the clips by right clicking the track's title bar then clicking Select Track Content (or simply ctrl-a if it's the only track with any arrangement content). Move (or copy) the clips into session view, then move them back t...

Re: Join vs consolidate two files for pauseless seamless playback
Live favours snapping dragged clips to the grid over snapping to nearby clips (and it won't even try to snap clip edges together with the grid off); perhaps you need to reduce the the grid resolution (ctrl-2) to remove interfering gridlines that are too close to the target clip's edge? edit: Oh also...

Re: Adjust start/end/fade of multiple clips at once?
If you drag over the desired fade-in range over the relevant clips and hit ctrl-alt-f that will create the same standard fade on all highlighted clips, same can be done for the desired fade-out. Admittedly not as convenient as the method you describe for other DAWs Tips: * ctrl-space will play the s...

Re: Convert text to audio
Ah I managed to open some random files in SoundForge as raw files. Raw has to be explicitly selected from the file type drop-down in the open file dialog (even if the filename ends ".raw") According to a quick google search seems Audacity has an import raw function also. (Maybe most good s...

Re: Convert text to audio
I too am interested in this idea :) you actually only need to change the extension to .wav or .aif but it will create very short waveforms unless there is a lot of text had some fun with doing that a few years back, novelty wore off though as they all mostly just sound like noise and there are easie...
