I purchased m4l while I had a Live 8 standard so I imagine you still can. It's super useful and the library of devices grows every day. As far as pricing, you'd have to log in to your account to see.
edit: I do not think it is possible to get m4l with the intro version of live.

Re: KMI Softstep 2
I got one this summer to replace the fcb1010 and I love it. Maps easy and has a ton of options if you want to use them. It's tiny and weighs almost nothing compared to the fcb1010 but at the same time the build quality is superb. I've dropped it a bunch and it shows no signs of damage. One thing to ...

Re: Performing with a loop pedal and band?
I do something similar with my band. Our drummer has a click when we are looping stuff. I set up a (dummy) midi clip that plays the length of the song. There is midi data in the clip that controls parameters of guitar effects and synths. By renaming the scene to a bpm (ex: "120 BPM") and t...

New Video - Karass (Live band with Ableton)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVtq7k6TNHw My band, Karass http://karass.bandcamp.com/ is releasing a new tape and the youtube link above is the first single from the release. We use Ableton Live as the central hub of the band automating instruments and effects, syncing Elektron synth/drum machines...

Re: Macbook Pro Retina + Apogee Duet 2 + Ableton Problem
This is the exact setup I use. Unless your gear is a dud it should run like a champ. Try these things (in this order): 1. Update duet firmware 2. Reinstall Apogee Maestro 2 3. Update Ableton (which version are you on?) 4. In Ableton preferences, experiment with different sample rates and buffer size...

Re: What's your Audio Interface?
I've been using the Audient iD22 for the past month. It's converters are super-duper clean! They are the best sub $1000 converters I have heard. Plus it has a several programable monitoring buttons that I never thought I would use and now use all the time. It was an upgrade from a digi002, then befo...

Re: Using Ableton Before Amp in Guitar Signal Chain?
I send my guitar line out my effects send of the amp to ableton and back into my effects return. There is a bit of volume matching required and the tone isn't exactly the same as it goes in, but I still like it. I love it. Been doing it for years!

Re: What gear did you regret buying in 2013?
Sorry to hear that. I love my MoFx delay! Except for the distortion...it's awful. That delay is my one of my favorites!JuanSOLO wrote:Electrix MoFx.
I bought it for the syncable delay that had a momentary button and eqing thinking it would serve some dub style needs.
The delay sounded terrible to me.

Re: Instant Mapping : More than 8 knobs?
The most direct way is to midi-assign a button to the title bar of each plugin. I use a nanokey just for switching between effects and racks. You can also just use your left and right arrow keys once you are in a track to move between effects in the same track.

Re: Instant Mapping : More than 8 knobs?
If you are talking about the "blue hand" mapping, I don't think you can map more than 8. Not %100 sure, but I think it's the case. There are m4l patches that allow for automapping 16 controllers, but when I tried them a year or so back they caused all kinds of freakouts in my session. Mayb...

Re: Midi foot controller / 2 devices
Channels have to be set on the devices themselves. I can't help you with that. sorry
I think you can set different banks on the fcb1010 to two different midi channels. That way one bank can control ableton and the other the obey70

Re: Midi foot controller / 2 devices
That can work. If there is no real "midi through" capability on the impulse you can route the midi through ableton and back out to get it to work. Set the impulse to channel 1 set the fcb to channel 2 set the obey to receive midi on channel 3 Create a midi track (midi from impulse channel ...

Re: Ableton looper or looper pedal?
I have worked with both hardware loopers and the looper device in Live. For me it comes down to the latency of the sound card. If you have a good low latency sound card, then go for everything in Live. If there is latency in the line from your guitar to ableton to the speakers (that you can't fix no...
