Re: The No1 Wish for Ableton Live

record your takes to a channel like normal
turn snap off and set the trigger mode to legato
create a channel armed to record with the channel you want to comp takes from as the input
record a new clip on that channel and start ...

Re: drum racks and external hardware
do you have a version of live with the external instrument device? if so, group a drum rack full of dummy wavs as a chain parallel to an external instrument, then name the cells in the drum rack and mute it. the notes will show up named/foldable in the instrument rack's piano roll this way.

Re: Help me build my "infinite granular delay return fx rack"
wow, great idea.
I guess it has to be used sparsely so as to avoid to huge feedback!!
thanks for the idea
compressor/limiter will take care of that, but you could also route the send to a track with the grain delay on it and a dummy clip automating the feedback amount which is then fed back to ...

Re: LaunchPad's Mixer Moder question
Also, while you can control grouped clips in session view from the session mode, grouped mixer tracks don't show up the same way in mixer mode. That's pretty inconsistent. Maybe it's a but that will be fixed soon?

Re: LaunchPad's Mixer Moder question
I don't expect to be able to do super smooth mixes with the mixer but one thing that's killing me is something I did expect to be able to do: Hold a button down for one value and hit another then have it jump back to the one I'm holding down— trilling, basically. Would be very useful for doing ...

Re: what are you wanting from MAX 4 Live
Some of these may be beyond the scope of what M4L will be able to do but if it is possible they're esoteric enough that's the only way they'd ever get implemented. There are also already ways to kinda do some of these things in Live but they're not so robust. I'm putting this out there now in case ...

Pop out Looper into its own window
I'm working with a setup involving multiple loopers controlled by multiple people on stage, and it'd be nice to be able to see our multiple loopers at once. Am I missing an obvious way to do this or would it be a really useful feature?
