Re: Mac GPU Usage of Live 11

Cheers [jur] - I'll have a word with our IT bod and see I can organise some harvesting of specs and results across our machines. Most of them are high res screens (5K) and I did notice that if you ran L11 in 'Low Resolution Mode' and dropped the actual res of the display right down it makes a huge d...

Re: Mac GPU Usage of Live 11

Major problems with L11 :( I work in an educational institution and, after we upgraded 30+ machines (various specs up to Mac Pros) from L9 to L11, it's now become a standing joke to go into a room, load up L11 and just listen to all the fans come on before anyone has hit play. Even the older 'hoover...

No probs mate. If you liked that recommendation check out the other freebie Flux as well: a rather nice transient designer to give yer beats more attack or smooth 'em out - useful either side of a comp and beats paying for an SPL hardware box any day...8)

Re: Is there a Phase Meter Plug-in for Live?

Can anyone explain exactly what the heck i'm looking at when i pop one of these bad boys on a track? (In addition to 3dot's excellent examples above) - don't head straight for, in terms of phase measurement, the big circular dowhatsit/goniometer unless you know how to read one. Look underneath for ...

The original video looks fantastic. When I use Super or any other converter, the video jumps and skips really bad. What's the original vid's actual codec Huml? The extension, according to the thread title is .avi, but that's actually a 'container' rather than the actual codec and could cover a mult...

+1 to both. However those seeking a good freebie for the job should take a look at Audiomove:

They do look amazing. It'd be really helpful if someone who really knows their stuff could give them a whirl and give some feedback on the sound they put out. Wouldn't suggest I know my stuff but...:) Antress plugs *have* improved over the past few years but still bear little resemblance to the act...

Re: SAE diplomas/degrees worth it?

Iis the SAE a good pathway to doing this? It's fucking expensive and in my experience all I've ever heard is a lot of jaded and disillusioned people saying it was a waste of time and money, but they have all been in the same boring types of audio jobs I've been in, maybe I'd hear differently from S...

BTW: @rbmonosylabik - the M-S Encoder/Decoder wouldn't install for me, under Windoze, and gives the error message 'Folder X could not be created....' where X is the unpacked location?

Another BPM measuring option, not perfect but generally pretty reliable, is BPM Analyser:
