I was lucky enough to meet Bob Moog just before he fell ill. We had a Synth Legends event with Bob, Tom Oberhein, Dave Smith, and Roger Linn. About 100 people made it out and it was an incredibible night. Bob was extremely witty and one of the nicest people I have ever met. Some of his comments had ...

I've never used the plug-in, but have heard about it. I do have the 2 channel version of transient designer and it is my favorite piece of rack gear. The sound is pretty unique -it can be used simply in a musical way for a different kind of compression sound, or it can be used more like a utility in ...

Hey Alex,
I really like using Impulse -but there are a couple of limitations. First, there is no velocity mapping -just one sample you can trigger per drum. Something like Battery will give you velocity mapping so that you can have more control over how the drums sound depending on how hard or soft ...

USB interface's
That's cool if you don't have a firewire now, but since it's probable that you will the next time you upgrade I would suggest something inexpensive, yet of good quality...like the emagic. Also, check out this page for an overview of USB I/O interfaces: http://www.audiomidi.com/hardware/audio/usb ...

My system is almost identical to yours- even the 450 DP Mac G4. I use a MOTU MTP for my MIDI though. I got the same error message, downloaded the Live update, downloaded the most recent ASIO driver for the 2408 on the MOTU site, installed...and everything works fine and the 2408 is reconized for ...

Audio Interfaces
The Emagic interface that Mateo suggested is a great piece of gear that you couldn't go wrong with. I would also suggest looking at the MidiMan line as their interfaces are said to be good. Have you considered a firewire interface?
