Re: is ableton 9 coming out at midnight Berlin time?

Nothing for me, frontpage hasn't been changed yet either. Doesn't really matter as I'm at work today anyway, but hopefully I can download it early today so I can immediately get into the installation shenanigans tonight.

Re: Live 9 Pricing

Are you questioning the values of the generation who feels they should never pay for a song or movie download ever and a $1 app for a phone should first be given serious scrutiny before purchasing and if not satified should publicly demand their dollar be refunded? No, because that would make me so...

Re: Music theory is easier than learnig to sing....

I find it easier to improvise by humming a tune over a backing than blurting something out on a keyboard so I'm very curious to see how it will affect creating melodylines and stuff like that. It won't replace my keyboard or any other instrument, but it's an option with a load of potential and choic...

Re: Music theory is easier than learnig to sing....

It's not really singing though. If the examples are anything to go by, having the talent to sing in the shower (the ability to carry a rudimentary tune) will be enough rather than needing Adele like proficiency.

Re: Live's new audio to midi feature.

Judging from that video, it seems that those slight pitch-bends in the flute loop are interpreted as separate notes. I imagine that this is because the audio-to-MIDI function utilises transient detection, so it probably bases its pitch detection upon each transient. Hmm, but that would work pretty ...

Re: Live's new audio to midi feature.

I can play keyboard, but any tool that'll make me squeeze out a good tune without experimenting, practising and perfecting ramming a riff on keys for hours is a good thing in my eyes. After all, it's the result I care about, not improving my mad keyboard skillz. Otherwise I'd play in a band or somet...

Re: 'ADVICE ON UPGRADING FROM LIVE LITE 8'

What would you expect from an upgrade? What limitations are there for you now which would be removed if you ugpraded? There are feature comparison charts available between the various versions, if there are features you'd like but which you don't have now, upgrade. If there's no useful features for ...

Re: Live 9 Pricing

When I was a lad you needed thousands of dollars of synth equipment to make a tune, and people complain about instrument/feature bloated software packages with more content than you could dig through in a lifetime being a couple of tenners too expensive. Some people could really do with a perspectiv...

Re: VST3 support in Live 9?

Just got a reply from Ableton support. No VST3 on release of Live 9, "might come with a later update" - "can't promise anything".

Alas. I guess the pestering will continue!
