Re: Getting Ableton To Work on a Lion Hackintosh
Woh! Amazes me how I could have written all that down while being quite drunk after watching the european football championship. Quite repetative as well and even spelled EULA wrong. lol at myself :) fuck apple. If I buy the OS its mine. It is yours, but you don't have the right to install it on a n...

Re: Getting Ableton To Work on a Lion Hackintosh
fyi, if you buy osx retail it's not illegal if you stick an apple sticker on to your enclosure. FYI, it's clear to me that you've never read Apple's UELA.... And this is about a Hackintosh with Lion, which you can't buy like previous Apple OS's. It can either be bought through the Apple Mac Store o...

Re: Getting Ableton To Work on a Lion Hackintosh
People never realise it isn't just about 'specs', it's how the OS that's tailored to it handles the hardware and everything in between. People make great music using Atari ST's and 486 machines. Specs don't say shite.. Can't even imagine why you shouldn't leave it a Win7 machine. Audio can be exchan...

Re: Analog summing: Dangerous Music 2bus and equivalents
If you mix OTB you well eventually have to use one more pass of A/D somewhere, unless you're still working with cassettes or are passing a reel-to-reel mixdown directly to your mastering engineer (who will still be converting it back to digital, again assuming your final distribution format include...

Re: Analog summing: Dangerous Music 2bus and equivalents
So I guess everybody here keeps it itb :) I found a small article about the subject and read a pro/con article yesterday, makes me reconsider the purchase of a analog summing box. Saves money as well lol D-box here. What article? I found more articles btw, but I don't have the habit of bookmarking ...

Re: Getting Ableton To Work on a Lion Hackintosh
Maybe the problem is the used OS itself. How did you obtain the installer? From a USB flash drive?

Re: Analog summing: Dangerous Music 2bus and equivalents
I copied this from the wiki because english is not my native language and I would require far more sentences to describe what it does :) "A D.I. is a device typically used in recording studios to connect a high-impedance, line level, unbalanced output signal to a low-impedance microphone level ...

It's all good
Just remember XLR is only a connection type.
It is quite often used for mics though.

Re: Analog summing: Dangerous Music 2bus and equivalents
The 2Bus works with both those mentioned -10 dBV and +4 dBu levels (and higher) with the latter being the better option. Check it's manual, you'll see. Don't know where you read that the 2Bus requires some strange -60 dB level. The fact that it has XLR connectors doesn't have anything to do with mic...
