Re: Getting it LOUD : theory of the human hearing range
Overall it's usually the low end that has more to do with how loud or quiet a track can be made in mastering, as that's where all the peak energy is. You might need to reduce the midrange frequencies if it gets too harsh when you boost the volume, but I don't think just focusing your efforts there ...

Getting it LOUD : theory of the human hearing range
Hi Chaps, I am learning to get my mixes loud I am just struggling with some theory which I feel is critical. So, as I understand it our ears are most sensitive to noise in the range 1khz - 3.5khz. So in order to get the 'percieved' volume level up do I need to turn this range UP or DOWN? And then if...

How do I toggle other values with Max?
I want to create a device that will let me assign a device parameter and when I click a button on the device will send a signal to a device. I need to be able to do conditional midi button mappings on my controllers for a live set.
Can anybody tell me the correct topics to read up on with Max4Live?

How to reset all effects with one button?
I have a live set and midi endless rotary encoders mapped to some controls that help me create a build. When the beat kicks back in I want to be able to hit one button and have all the controls reset back to 0. When I used to use keyboard only for my live sets this was easy I would mouse up the cont...

What are the correct settings for just recording my live set
I really can't seem to get my head around all the buttons at the top of Ableton 9. Seems since 8 they got way more complicated. All I want is to record my live set and make sure it overwrites any previous track automation that I did during my live performance, essentially I just want to record the m...

How do they make these deep house guitars?
I have been having some problems making a guitar sound like this... at 1:20 in this track...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBE14DkHeT4
Some guitar like pluck comes in. But I cannot work out if this is a live guitar sample or a synth patch. Does anyone have any ideas?

What sample rate should I play at?
I have a load of tracks in a live set. Sometimes I turn it on and it is at 44000khz sample rate and I have to 'speed up' the set tempo. And then sometimes it is on 48000 and I have to slow it back down again. So which one is the right one? They both work but how do I tell what the default is?

Re: Keep a track at minimum volume automatically?
You can throw a compressor on the master, but I don't see why you would have an unexpected drop in volume within a track. Are you talking about mixing tracks? Hi sorry for the delay, but a compressor will make sure it doesn't get too loud my problem is the other way round I don't want it to get too...

Keep a track at minimum volume automatically?
Hi Chaps,
I want to be able to set a track up for liver performance so that any drop in volume will be increased automatically to make sure the track stays at the same level without me having to fiddle around too much, is this possible?
Thanks
Pete

How do I access clip automation now in 9?
Hi Guys,
In Ableton 8 I was able to modify parameters on my track via the clip window. for example automate panning. However with 9 I cannot seem to get to the parameters does anyone know why?

Using a MAC, can it do the following?
Hi Guys, Im thinking of going for a Mac on my next system. However it really has to be everything people say it is and im not convinced. I have some things and whilst they may seem trivial the PC platform really is stable and works well but there are a couple of tiny little things, so.... 1) does a ...

How to put a Dry/Wet control in?
I have an effect on one of my tracks that only has on off no wet/dry. I do not want to put the effect on a send/return track as I want 100% saturation not a mix.
Is there a way to put the effect into an instrument group and essentially pass more of the audio signal through the effect?
